The Collector

Game Introduction

You are a novice reaper, dispatched to a seemingly peaceful town for soul collection training. But this town is far more complex than you imagined—the restless souls of residents will transform into vengeful spirits seeking revenge! You must constantly switch between forms to save the town. 3.png

Core Gameplay

Dual Identity, Strategic Choices - Reaper Form: Invisible wandering, collecting souls of those near death (while gathering cause of death) and eliminating vengeful spirits, earning precious Yang Souls to gain time as a mortal - Mortal Form: Continuously consuming Yang Souls to manifest as an outsider, interacting with town residents and intervening in impending tragedies. You can also visit the TV station to report causes of death, permanently reducing the occurrence rate of specific disasters

Key Mechanics - When a resident's lifespan drops below 5%, their soul enters a "collectible state" - Unnatural events (fires, car accidents, fights, diseases) will instantly and dramatically reduce lifespan - No fixed victory condition—the goal is to indefinitely maintain the town's stability and population balance - Failure Condition: Town population drops below 10 people

The idea of a simulated world is interesting and have much potential. This idea sure stands out among all the games I've played sor far in this jam. But perhaps it takes time to adjust the various factors. The game is a bit too hard for me as residents die easily and I can't do much to interfere.
