Controls

  • a or left arrow moves the player left
  • d or right arrow moves the player right
  • spacebar makes the player jump
  • left click or f makes the player swing the mining pick
  • x kills the player at any time

Goal

Collect points by mining blocks, collecting diamonds, and isolating bomb blocks.
Mining a block awards more points if its surrounded by bombs. Bomb blocks are isolated by mining all the non-bomb blocks around them. And diamonds are simple -- you just walk over them. But if you end up mining a bomb block, you are instantly annihilated, and all your hard-earned points are gone.

Great concept, turning Minesweeper into a platformer is amazing! I spent quite a while hunting for diamonds, toally hooked. The music fits perfectly, and I absolutely love the art style.

Very interesting mix of mining and minesweeper! This idea was really creative and I would love to see it expanded more. Would love it if there were tools and abilities that help determine whether bombs. Amazing game, I really enjoyed this a lot.

Great combination of familiar genres, and the game feels polished and well-made. Platformer controls are good and I learned how to play in an instant.

Would be cool if there also were some action mechanics commonly seen in platformer games like surprise enemies jumping on you out of blocks or other kinds of traps.

I got 2820 points and killed myself at the bottom of the level: there was nowhere to dig. And it's a good thing, who knows how long would I play if this game was endless. 😂

Enjoyable game with a nice combination of two classic ideas. The controlls feel clear and smooth, the sound design is on point!

This was a super clever game idea! And executed really well too. Especially as you get deeper it gets very interesting, since you really have to dig around where bombs might be. And sometimes you can use logic to deduce whether a tile is safe, such that you dont have to go around (as long as you are correct of course, which I often wasnt :P). Perhaps there could be a reward for going down faster, such that you are forced to use deduction more? Just a thought.

Really well done! I loved the creativity :)

@wuppos this is a great point, I'd say we are missing some mechanics / incentives to push players deeper in the mine. I think it would be great if there was an objective of some kind down there, like a formal end of the level, or just better rewards (but also, more hazards), etc.

i love the music. and the sprites and the movement feels super good. how do i dig? one square allowed me to crack it. i got frustrated because i was trying to dig downward and couldn't figure out how to do it.

We haven't decided on a goal yet, besides getting a high score

@web-gnar you dig with the left mouse button or the `f` key. You can rebind these controls in the settings.

This cover cracked me up, every explosion comes so suddenly. After getting blown up a few times, I think it would be better if there were more upgrade options? Interesting game, haha.

Wow, the fact that some blocks are mined was unexpected, the game itself is cool, you feel like you're in some kind of Minecraft

Good job. Maybe we can place some flags like in Minesweeper to defuse the bombs.

I did not expect it to be so fun! When I noticed several minutes had passed already.
It's kinda of a nice revisit to minesweeper. The music is short but the style contributes to the mood.
Congratulations on your submission and thanks for reviewing our game too!
