Update 13-05-2023: - v0.7 Better game loop and end game!
-I've uploaded v.0.7.0 which improves on the game loop, You can skip actions and fast forward to breeze through the game faster! - Different difficulties/game length. You can now choose between 6,9 and 12 areas - Better day cycle animation. - I've got 2 new pigeon skins made by poeple who left a review. thanks @cureja and @momomaki
Known Bugs: - Aviary collapse can kill a pigeon on delivery - I introduced this bug with the last update -_- Pigeon stuck dead in the aviary when dying in travels
A game about preventing a possible war by delivering stuff to places with pigeons.
Instructions (since it is not that clear in game):
The goal of the game is to connect all the areas on the map. To connect an area to the kingdom, you must have one pigeon complete a travel to this place once.
- A day is divided into 2 phases:
- Send pigeons on deliveries
- Choose a daily action
- Pigeons moves (Nothing to do, but to watch)
Deliveries: You click on a place or a pigeon and vice-versa. The status of the Pigeon will now be "Delivery". You can only send Pigeon with the status "Chilling".
Choose Daily Action: You can only choose one action every day. Some costs seeds some require you to select one or more pigeon. Then a skill check will be made (Sometimes it is just a base luck check and other times it is a pigeon stat. It is not clearly defined, but has some logic to it).
If you want to cancel an action you can right click.
M to mute music

You can download the following image and colour your own pigeon, upload it in a comment with a review (positive or negative it doesn't matter. I want real feedback). I will then add it to the pool of pigeons.
Rules: Do not change the outline of the pigeon, please keep the eye around the original area (because of the glasses). Nothing offensive (or too offensive).

100% of the content in the game is made by me.

Sorry.
Very cute game, though I agree with Chado that it drags a bit at points. Could definitely use with speeding up some of the transitions between phases of days. The music, while enjoyable, did start to wear on me.
All that being said, I'm surprised by the number of systems at play here and how it all comes together to feel like a well thought out, well put together game. Great job!
Lovely game, great theme. With some more polish for the gameplay, I can see this game being
The tips were a very good idea for guiding the player. Finding out what the events did at the beginning of the game was fun.
I found that obtaining bird seed through pigeons to be too risky to do after establishing connection to a location, due to the amount gained being pretty low compared to just waiting for a random event to gain seed, time spent/risk of death involved/losing out events that boost the pigeons, and the lowish impact of having seeds.
Maybe having the events be a bit swayed dependant on what the player needs would be nice as well, I found myself waiting for the aviatory upgrade until day 30 I think? (I could be wrong though) I also think that letting the player if they get no events, getting a thematic but very weak/luck dependant event would be nice, since the events help fuel progression/world building and helps keep you into the game while you wait.
Great job on the game and the feel! (Theoretically I think you could have kept your game as a Jam game since I think certain bug fixes are allowed, post jam, which i think yours was since it was a critical bug. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules)
"Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline. You are asked to highlight the changes you make in your submission (a short change log). You probably wont get a 2nd chance with some players, but at least it wont be a problem for future players."
Here's a chick art, hope it looks good enough c:

Overall, it's a solid core game and I enjoyed it :)
I aim to improve the events so its not COMPLETELY random, but I didn't have much time recently.
The pigeons art and names were really nice, made me feel attached to them.
Getting more pigeons if you're running out is almost entirely down to RNG, which doesn't feel good. It took several tries before my home DIY actually got me a second pigeon, and the very next time I tried it, I had a beam collapse and kill a pigeon ***that wasn't even in the aviary at the time*** (it was still returning from a mission). I have to be honest, I rage-quitted the game at that point because it just felt like total BS.
I'd love to play a version of this with a bit more balancing and a bit of a faster pace.
I didn't finish connecting my 6 kingdoms because my pigeons died quickly. I persevered 30 days with only one pigeon, without managing to get new ones, which ended up dying of old age. I think it would be nice to have more opportunities to get pigeons and/or give them more strength at the beginning to avoid their imminent death.
The game is fun, but I would like to have more cute and strong pigeons !
...Couldn't resist spending 15 minutes on a "pigeon" recolour of my own, though :-)

(I hope a parrot is acceptable)
