web_header.png

Deliver punchlines and emerge victorious in this battle of words.

This game is funnier played against someone, but if you're alone, you can destroy the wannabe MC AI

How to play:

Player 1 inputs: A, D (qwerty) | Q, D (azerty)

Player 2 inputs: left, right

At the performer selection screen, move the mic right or left to select your punchline champion and press 'space' to start the clash.

Use player inputs to swap through inspiration before the word drops.

Make clever work of rhymes, rhythm and verbal attack during your 12 lines to score a maximum of points.

Woooowwww :sparkles:
A member of our team wanted to have a similar take on the theme, I'm happy it happened somewhere else!!
Took me some time to get the controls (had started the game in single player mode by mistake), but I played with our GD and we had some fun.
In the end we only got good after one or two runs, once we learned what the next lines would be in order to make the combos  Maybe it would be nice to have the next rhymes displayed somewhere? idk if that was your design intention. [edit: I played again and I don't think that anymore x) I just feel it would be better to have the rhymes highlighted in the line history because it gets overwhelming]
I would really love a roguelike deckbuilder on this concept, where you can gather rhymes throughout the run!
Thanks for the game :tada:

It took a little bit to understand how the game functions, but it was pretty fun afterwards! Finding all the right rhymes for a sequence was very satisfying, and reading out loud the lines while playing with my friend was indeed really fun! Good job!

Great game! Simple to understand, fun to destroy your opponents with epic bars. I agree with another comment about a roguelike deckbuilder- expanding in that direction has some really fun potential with this style of game.

cool take. I didn't understand some of the reasoning the crowd would jeer or cheer. Maybe I am not a wordsmith. I liked the art and sound. Controls worked well. Overall good game.

Brilliant take on the theme! Very clever, the lines were cool and it was fun even if I lost against the AI. The only suggestion I can think of is perhaps adding a stronger beat

I thought about attempting something like this, but it was beyond my skill level. I'm really really happy someone did it, and your execution is incredible!

Nice take on the theme - didn't see anything like that.
Cool graphics and cool rhymes.
I think it would have been nice to read the lines again when the game was finished.

Someone delivered, after all, a tons of jokes. Some are funny, even. Cool idea for a mini-game in some adventurous full play. Fun entry!

I really like the concept. If you could add actual the actual rhymes in the audio it would feel a lot smoother. Great interpretation of the theme!

Mad props to you for going with this banger of a take on the theme! Art and atmosphere are lovely too, plus the self-irony. I guess it still takes a good amount of rhymeforgery to add some replay value, but this is my favourite among ideas so far!

I love this take on the theme! The graphics are so on point, although the font could be a little more readable. Overall I really enjoyed the rhymes!

Really cool! I couldn't really figure out what the best rhymes were to win, but the concept is awesome and the art/theme is great! Great job!
