made by Hempuli for Ludum Dare 53 (JAM)

NOTE: I went about 6-7 minutes overtime with writing the rules PDF, so treat as you will.

A group of wise people have discovered a major Truth and engraved a Stone Cylinder with its words. Another group has likewise determined the nature of a different Truth and sent their Stone Cylinder on its way. The group that delivers their Truth to the ears of the others will have it become the governing nature of the realm, and thus they must make haste so that other doesn't do the same first.

This is an abstract boardgame inspired by games like Thud in Terry Pratchett's book of the same name. The idea is to throw around your Stone Cylinder and get it to the opposing edge of the board before the opponent does the same. The game's barely playtested at all, so be warned.

The pieces were bought from various sources before the event and the board is cut from an acrylic canvas I had bought beforehand, but I did paint all the pieces myself during the jam with acrylic paints! The box seen below is from a set of watercolour postcard bases I bought recently, and I used an old sock as a hinge for the foldable game board.

Can you move through another piece on your way to an unoccupied square? I assume no because it would mean stepping on an occupied square but just wanted to be sure:

Yeah, the intention is that that move would be invalid :)

What do you think of Beige starting in the position to negate first-move advantage?
