Indefatigable Zeal by fizzbark

made by fizzbark for Ludum Dare 53 (JAM)

In the Swiss Alps during the 1700s, St Bernard dogs were bred to be first respondents to find buried victims after an avalanche. They carried casks of Brandy around their necks that the survivors would drink for warmth while they waited for the dogs to return with rescuers. You play as a dog and a monk partnership delivering Brandy to survivors on the way home to get help, but something sinister awaits them...

An interesting game, I liked it. It's a pity there aren't enough levels)

Two characters to play is always fun, especially when it has different interaction with the world! Agree with @mkraw, smell is cool idea

Wow the art of this game is gorgeous, and controlling the dog and monk at the same time is quite an interesting idea, could see this being a longer proper game, could use some more work on the audio bits, but overall quite impressive.

Very well made! Sadly I did get stuck on the puzzle with the burning trees. Still this is very well made. Good Job!

Great little game, good idea controlling both characters, good story.. fun to play, interesting old school art style.. I really enjoyed this one even though the story is a bit bark and the dog kept telling me "f..koff!" c",)

loved the game, I am captivated by the combination of such dark mater and bright gameplay to deliver it. it seems that we are truly living the experience of a resque dog! it is a bit hard to get around form the start because ui does not feel very natural, but nonetheless it is an exceptional work, thank you!

Really cool. I like the innovative concept of controlling one character with keyboard and one with mouse to collaborate on a single goal. Only took a few seconds to get the hang of and I would have loved to play more with the mechanic in a full version. Graphics were awesome and along with the gritty audio really added to the mood. The whole experience felt like something from a hundred years ago, maybe found in a dusty library if games were that old!

Hey @zacbackdrop, @dylan-h, @milestto, @sarah-quinn, and @fizzbark awesome little game you guys put together!

I really like the visuals and the gameplay is quiet awesome! I like how the monk and the dog have to work together to solve some puzzles, looking forward to the post jam version with more content and the continuation to the story!

The puzzle where you have to control two characters and work together to solve is a cool idea!
The sniffing mechanic is interesting, but I'd like to see it present more interesting choices other than "sniff everything!". The avalanche sound at the beginning was really loud and rough on the ears. Would be interested to see what other kind of interesting puzzles you can make with these mechanics :)
