Deliver the Torch

The world is dying, shrouded by an unending darkness and you have received a gift from god, an undying flame. Deliver this to the north, lest the world succumb to darkness.

Deliver the torch was my attempt to mix tactical strategy game battle brothers, with those IO games where you consume enemy's. Ultimately I am happy with the result and can see it being a fairly fun phone game.

I spent a fair while on the juice of combat, but within my artistic limits a lot of it is code driven.

I strongly recommend you download and play this as the graphics are better and you will get significantly better performance. Opted out of audio, although I did the music and ambient sounds I get the hit effects from Open Game Art.

WEBGL may take a minute or 2 to load. Graphics are strange as well, overly bright sprites and lights turned off. It is recommended you play the windows version for the true experience.

I've never willingly held down the left mouse button for so long in my life, great job

Loved the art and the presentation! The interpretation of the theme was unique as well. I would have liked the gameplay to have a little more depth, but this was a solid game nevertheless!

I really enjoyed the graphics and the ambient sound! The mix of 2D and 3D was cool. I wish the gameplay was a little more involved, but great job creating the atmosphere!

I absolutely in love with mechanics and the idea! However, It gets a little slow when I have a giant army. But still, this game is insanely good!!!

Very nice entry! I played for so long to see how far i can deliver the "message", as it turns out the game ends itself at day 5, not sure if this is the proper way to end the game but I am enjoy the gameply. Nice Job!

@foursay ah mate sorry about that. It should only end when all the troops under your command die. Must be bug that snuck through. Admittedly I only added the ability to lose at the very end so its not fully tested, or polished.

Woah! The mood! Love it! Unfortunately, I could only play the web version (Mac) but I got the feel and oppressiveness of the darkness. Good job!

Very nice mood everything felt real smooth except for the punch sounds they distracted from the overal picture. Very cool game either way

the fact that this was made in 3 days is mind blowing, the game looks astonishing and gives you that From Software mood with ease, tho i guess the finale could have been more dramatic with a boss type enemy that you'd have to defeat.

This was a really solid entry! I liked the good simple game loop, and particularly liked how the challenge escalated through the game. I feel like you don't see that very often. GG!

Truly delightful atmosphere and presentation. Loved how it looked. Short and sweet. I wanted there to be more to play! I also wanted to be able to inspect my little guys names and hp/lvl, but the nameless horde snowball had it's own charm. Only learning the guy's names upon death was grim!

Thank you for submitting to my stream! The art was amazing and the premise interesting. Graphically it reminded me of Darkest Dungeon a bit. Also the "You are maidenless..." is a nice inclusion. :green_heart:

Really like the visuals and presentation!Reminded me of Darkest Dungeon. Tho I was a bit lost as to where I should go as the map was a bit confusing and when its night you dont know where you are going. Also when you have too many units its a bit hard to move because they push eachother. Overall very nice and didnt expect to get called Maidenless!

Looks great and I love the atmosphere! I wish there was only a little bit more control of your guys, but I think there's a lot of different ways you could take this. I really enjoyed the little quips they do, very nice touch xD

(also very minor issue: the bottom left text was cut off on ultrawide monitor, had to switch to 16:9)
