maybe adding the baby above player could be a nice feature, its hard to tell you have a baby when you start playing the game
But overall really cool game!
I liked the mechanics of the machine malfunctioning, it was a surprising increase on the difficulty.
The main point of feedback for me, would be adding a marker if I'm currently carrying a baby, or not, as there is no feedback on picking it up and putting it down.
Great work!!! 👍

I think you did a really good job about breaking the monotony and upping the challenge at just the right time. I won't spend too much time on the baby indicator, since others have already covered it. But getting a little more feedback for when I dropped a baby off would be helpful. The score going up definitely helps, but when I'm focused on just getting babies out, having a little sound or flash on the baby drop off spot could have helped me know that I actually did drop off a baby.
Even though you said you weren't quite comfortable with your art, I can tell that you gave it a good effort. I appreciate that there were so many different kinds of babies. You really took the time to make the game interesting even if you were still learning the platform. Keep that quality, because it will only stand to serve you better as you grow in your confidence.
Keep it up!
Here's a little sneak peak of what I've made so far in the update, it won't release until jam is over

would be cool to have a break from time to time.
keep making awesome games!
Try to tick this box on the "Edit game" page on itch.io

By the way, why use the mouse button and the arrow keys at the same time ? You could just use arrow keys + spacebar or mouse alone.
I'll also add that, your preview to the update : it's going to be wild.
Just released an updated post jam version of the game in its current state if any of you are interested in playing, I have added quite a few things after learning how to use audio better I gave the game some more oomph. Keep your ratings towards the first version of the game as that is what was made in the jam time. Have fun!
It's very simple but works fine. I'm not sure what the machine overload or broken machine actually meant and I'm a bit curious lol
I've played the jam version on itch.io without issues!
Oh I see, you have the same link for both Jam and Post Jam, so I'm not sure anymore if I've played the Jam or Post Jam actually!
Maybe having some more types would have made it a bit more interesting without adding much complexity to the development.
As a side note, I've found a bit weird that, instead of move with WASD, you specified every directions ahah
Good job!
In the description you specify “D to move right” which is a bit weird ahah
I would just expect wasd to move
