Story

Your grandfather was a farmer who had spent his whole life working the land. He loved nothing more than planting new crops, tending to the soil, and watching the fruits of his labor grow. But there was one thing that had always eluded him: the legendary diamond berries.

The diamond berries were a fabled fruit that grew deep in the forest surrounding your grandfather's farm. Legend had it that they were so named because of their incredible value; they were said to shine like diamonds in the sunlight and were worth a fortune to anyone who could find them.

Your grandfather had heard stories about the diamond berries from his own grandfather when he was a boy, and ever since then, he had been obsessed with finding them. He spent years searching the forest, but the berries remained elusive.

As your grandfather grew older, his quest for the diamond berries became more urgent. He knew that he was running out of time and that he might never find them. But he couldn't let go of the dream. He believed that if he could find the diamond berries, he could use the money he earned from selling them to expand his farm and provide for his family for generations to come.

Your grandfather's obsession with the diamond berries became a family joke, and no one took it seriously. But you always admired his tenacity and his refusal to give up on his dream. When he passed away, he left behind a letter addressed to you that detailed his life-long quest to find the diamond berries. In the letter, he expressed his wish for you to continue his legacy and fulfill his dream by finding the diamond berries.

The letter included a map that showed the location of the diamond berry patch, which was located on the edge of your grandfather's farm. He had planted the bushes there many years ago in the hopes that they would thrive and produce the diamond berries.

With the map and your grandfather's guidance, you set out to tend to the bushes and care for them just as he did. You spent hours each day cultivating the soil, watering the bushes, and removing any weeds or pests that threatened to harm the crop. Over time, the bushes grew stronger and healthier, and you began to see small buds forming on the branches.

Finally, the day arrived when the diamond berries were ready to be harvested. You carefully picked each one, marveling at their beauty and their value. As you sold them and used the money to expand your farm, you knew that your grandfather would be proud of you and the legacy that you were continuing. You realized that the diamond berries were not just about the money or the legend, but about the love and dedication that your grandfather had put into his farm, and the determination to pursue our dreams no matter what.

This is a really fleshed out game jam game. Seriously, great work! I enjoyed slowly building up my farm and getting improvements :) Flesh this out a bit more and I could see it being a fun pick up and play for a bit in the background kind of game !

Well, I couldn't figure out how to play. I guess I planted and watered one plant but then nothing ever happened. I must be missing something.

Neat game! I liked your interpretation of the theme! I think the game could have been a little bit faster paced - it took me a while to make enough money for my second plant. I think it's solid overall!

@rjdrag ye in the beginning it says you should buy farmers to help you take care of the work, i agree i should've made it more clear you can't really progress without them
@firebelley it does indeed need more balancing
if i had an extra day i would've made it so you can harvest crops yourself and also sell them directly from the storage instead of waiting on the truck.
Thanks everyone for the feedback!

Very complete game, congrats! Maybe the prices increase too fast, so you are kind of forced to buy some stuff instead of doin git your own way.

Great! Although price may need to be balanced, the truck quickly becomes overwhelmed and the farmers stack up waiting at the barn. Also, if you don't choose the farmer as the first upgrade the game gets stuck.. Otherwise, awesome job its very fun!

One of my favorites so far. The graphics and sound are perfect for this chill, idle clicker. Nice job!

Super fun idle/upgrade game! A lot of the upgrades were really satisfying. Getting really high storage expel speed gave me a laugh. Just picturing a hail-fire of berries being launched in to the truck 😂

I maxed out the plants, and was hoping for an ending or something 😅

I wish the upgrades had been a little grouped together as even after playing for quite a while, I felt like I had to scan through them all to find the one I was looking for.

I really liked the game, the pic should be the proof. But I have to say, the poor truck just can't keep up with the supply and demand. I wanted to play further to see when the truck will be fast enough (because it does decrease 0.2s at a time, not exponentially, so theoretically eventually it's going to) but the truck won't come back after I upgraded the last cost. I assume it's an max-int bug, or something.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked the game. And it's the story that really sold me I wanted to continue grandpa's legacy lol. I just think the game balancing could use some twiddling. I think the biggest reason is that there's only one truck; having just a bit more farmers' carry weight and matching harvest count is seriously OP at the moment.

I just spent an hour on this, I think that says something about the quality of the game, well done

Nice and relaxing. The pricing of the upgrades and the overall pacing could be improved, but it's really enjoyable nonetheless. There seems to be a bug, as the truck left at some point, but did not finish the delivery and never came back. Also the prices become unreadable when they are in the billions.

@yorsh @phyrocast @cloudya @xbcw @cowgummiboy @greenrose7 @twowolf @winie @kylene @stesim Thank you everyone for the amazing feedback and i am glad you enjoyed it! The truck glitch is really unfortunate, it's not a int limit issue because i use ulong for storing money data. It will be fixed in case i decide to continue development as for now, ig this is kind of like the end of the game! You overload the truck so much it's scared to come back

Fun chill idle game!

I think my one criticism is that the truck seems to bottleneck very fast, even with a single row of crops and a few guys.

What a cute little game. Really enjoyed playing it while sipping on my morning coffee. Great amount of upgrade options, the soundtrack is brilliant and visuals fit nicely. Different plants too, which surprised me. The UI could use a little bit of love, but that's obvious during an LD. Great job!

Nice little clicker! If I have any complaints, is that it's hard to click on the small version of the plants, at least in my web browser. But I think you guys did a great job here!
