I like the controls feeling and mood of the game
The graphics were good, the car controlled well, and it kept me wanting to play.
I'm going to play again after typing this up. I wanna try the different weapons.
I liked getting the minigun with the long reload, was an unusual mechanic to have in a shmup, really cool.
I think the difficulty was tuned very well which made the game for me.
I had one issue with the browser version: when I used the down arrow key the entire browser scrolled down, and so the game dissapeared from view.
The only negative I found is if I already bought a gun and forgot to repair I couldn't get back into the shop to do so
Shop balance is not polished enough, money was never a problem and there was no hard decision - just buy best gun when possible. But it all does not matter for jam.
Also, I think it is counter-intuitive how shop is auto-closed after buying gun, but not auto-closed after repair. So if player want both repair and gun he should make actions in right order.
What's engine?

The feeling is perfect and the gameplay is simple yet rewarding, everything is well explained and the enemies' behavior can be well understood thanks to graphical and audio feedbacks, which is pretty uncommon in Game Jam games . I just wish there was more weapons / things to buy
The music and sounds were very cool and very fitting with the graphisms. I liked the "demake" graphical style

Unfortunately as I clicked off the game to take that screenshot it stopped getting my inputs.,.,,. goddamnit right on wave 9. Whatever I tried again cuz it was so fun. The ending was SO worth it!! You managed to cram a lot into this little game, congratulations!!!
I especially loved how you got some time in between waves to experiment with your gun before having to use it, and enemies are presented in controlled scenarios to show what they do. This is very expertly designed.
I since learned the shop is randomized, but after the first three waves I had only gotten $800 options (and hadn't reached those funds yet) or the same pistol I already had. Once did get $800 and got the chaingun, I then didn't want to replace it as I'd already invested and figured most expensive gun = best gun, so my money only went to repairs. I Would've loved the ability to upgrade the weapon (or global personal driver abilities) to improve accuracy, reload speed, etc. That way I'd be spending the money between rounds.
I dig the art, the blue-tinted shadows break up the monotony of what otherwise would be large swaths of grey background. The music, while loud and lacking a volume slider, is solid and really fits the vibe of the game.
It was a ton of fun to play! Great entry.
- The gun variants were nice.
- The sound effects were satisfying.
- The enemy variants were easy to understand and added enough complexity to the game. Although, I do think you should've introduced the sniper before the heavily armored vehicle, sort of felt lackluster by the time it joined since he was an easy enemy.
Another point to build on would be that it's pretty easy to rack up gold, and once you get the chain gun, you don't really need that much gold. That doesn't mean the game is easy though, it still took me a few tries to finish the 10th wave.
But maybe if you were to expand upon it, you could add more items in between the AR and the chain gun?
One last think to add is that it gets a bit repetitive when you're starting over, but I think that's just a limitation of all shmups.
Overall, good game and I hope you had fun at the jam!
P.S: You can spam the pistol to shoot as fast the AR
- Somehow I could activate a bug where I somehow created a double wave with cards that could not be hit (I think I clicked the wave button twice?)
- I really like the fact that you can activate the wave manually. Maybe instead of a button, you could assign a keyboard key to that?
- The music is very nice and I love how it goes into metalmode when the wave is starting
I didn't finish this one because on wave 9, I found a little into it, 3 of the convoy/tank style vehicles would spawn and my character would just be taken to the game over screen from full HP after being unable to move for a few seconds but I played it as much as I could and I got to there a good 3-4 times so it's fun!
I like the shop though I wish buying an item didn't lock out the ability to repair since you can do that the other way around and auto refilled ammo on starting a new wave would be nice but those are pretty small things! You had a great range of weapons and they all managed to feel unique and fun to use.
I love how you've merged a runner style game with a twin stick shooter style! Really well done!!
Glad you liked it!
