The Presidents of the United States of America have a song called "Some Postman" about a postman stealing love letters from the mail. That's you! Drive through the neighborhood and steal the love letters from people's mailboxes.

Controls

Press left for normal letters and right to steal love letters. Hold space to stop in front of a mailbox (make sure the flag is up!). Hold shift for turbo, but be careful — if you go too fast, you might miss a house that has mail!

Made with Unity. It was hard getting even this much done in 72 hours but sound and graphics (other than fonts) are all by yours truly!

Very fun! graphics and sounds are very nice, great work! it is a bit frustrating when you just missed a postbox though.

Got 9 letters and a score of 9, frickin loved this game! It was so simple yet so fun, I love games that go hard into mechanics and it was super fun to open the letters as fast as possible, great job there!!!

Fun game! Liked the art style! It's kinda bugged when you exit Full Screen mode.
There is too less audio to make the ones that are in the game effective.

The text when you sort love letters appearing in the middle of the screen hides hearts on the letters underneath, because it has the same color. The text could be in the upper part of the view and have other color. Other than that it's a decent minigame.

Overall I really like it. Fun arcade mechanics and easy to pick up and understand. Something I really appreciate in the Jam space is someone who respects the time of people rating. This is was a pleasure to play and rate and I may come back a few more times to see if I can get a perfect score.

surprisingly addicting! I found myself replaying it quite a few times just to try to beat my score. I would have loved a few more sounds. Maybe some music.

@rafagamedev Amazing! Thank you! If you get 5 love letters in a row without messing up you start getting a combo :)

@lisek-gagatek Thanks for the feedback — a couple other people I've shown have mentioned that so it's definitely not just you! I wanted to make the text fancier and animated but ran out of time. That'll be one of the first things I do if I put some more work in.

@the-martijn @yodog Thank you, that's awesome to hear! I added the sounds in a feverish rush like two hours before the deadline so they're definitely high on the list of things to improve haha.

Hmm, the web version doesn't seem to be working in Firefox 112.0.2, there's an insecure operation DOMException that's raised when you try to load it. Seeing some other projects with this issue, too. Might be helpful to try using itch.io and posting a link to it there? LD does some weird stuff that results in CORS requests that don't work.

This was a pretty fun idea! I don't know why some people are getting so many love letters but I won't stand for it! It was pretty simple but it worked really well and I really liked the option to speed things up to give myself more of a challenge! I did feel sometimes letters with no hearts visible were considered love letters so I don't know if some letters were being hidden but otherwise I don't think I encountered a single issue.
