Behind-the-Scenes

Here is a short video showcasing my Ludum Dare 52 game development (a behind-the-scenes video), enjoy:)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spIZi5ZQkd8

Story

After your ship 🛸 crashed on Earth, the passenger who was with you is now paralyzed and you are their only hope for survival.

You will soon come to realize that your new "friend" is not exactly the ideal companion in these dire circumstances.

Will you show mercy and spare them?

Fullscreen

For the best gameplay experience, it is recommended to set the game to fullscreen by scrolling to the bottom right corner of the screen and clicking the fullscreen icon using the scroll bars.

I also recommend running the game on Itch.io. Here is the game link.

Controls

  • Movement: WASD
  • Orientation: Mouse
  • Grab with Left Hand: Left Mouse Button
  • Grab with Right Hand: Right Mouse Button
  • To harverst veggies: Grab with both hands, then look up and jump to apply force to the veggie 🥕
  • Jump: Space Bar

Game Mechanics

The Physics Ragdoll Characters in this game are an entertaining feature, and the player has the ability to interact with various objects like vegetables, elevators, shop items and more!

The game also includes roguelike elements, like a shop where the player can purchase upgrades and items.

Challenges For YOU

  1. Try to speedrun the game by buying the gun and bringing it to your companion.
  2. If anyone is able to reach the top of this tower, I will be thoroughly impressed and will have the utmost respect for your accomplishment. Please share a video or picture of your success with me!

The Future of This Project

At this time, I do not have plans to continue development on this project. However, I have recorded footage of the game jam and will be releasing a video on my Youtube Channel soon. If there is sufficient demand for more content, I may consider adding additional features and levels in the future.

Make sure to read the [Embed Guide](https://ludumdare.com/resources/guides/embedding/) and scroll to the Unity section! Otherwise we cannot play your game aka it wont work via WebGL through LudumDare's site.

I freaking loved them wobbly guys haha! From physics to sound effects, this is one hell of a fun game.

I never played Human Fall Flat, but I imagine this is what it feels like. Now thanks to you I may actually consider buying that game haha.

It's really cute and fun, don't know what else to say. I haven't find any negatives. Maybe just a little one, and that is camera. Sometimes it is a bit clunky when trying to move the camera around, but nothing game breaking.

This game is sooooo coool!!! It really reminds me of Human Fall Flat with the physics.

Hah this was funny the controller was surprisingly robust great job, the spinning UFOs raged me though

One thing I might suggest would be to make the character a different color to the ground, found myself squinting a little

I couldn't get past the ufos and it was very frustrating.

The game is fun however.

Lovely, i really like the physics, i would love for there to be a way to control jump height (longer press = longer jump, short tap = smol jump), also the cart should be heavier, cuz it just falls over way too easy, and the camera controls are kinda a mess, DPI controls would be nice to fix that, but i am just nit picking, it's a really cool game, keep it up

This was impressively robust and seemed to work pretty well, I definitely agree with the comment above that making the character a different colour to the ground would have improved it.

The camera was a bit too sensitive for my taste. Having the button to skip the dialogue be the same as using your hands can lead to players accidentally skipping the text and make them not know what they have to do next. I couldn't get past the ufo since I always jumped over it and missed the red circle.

I did enjoy the Human fall flat physics and the story of the game.

The control scheme is a bit wonky and frustrating at times (as is the camera), but even so it is quite fun. Pulling the plants out of the ground really feels like I've done something. Very cool physics sim harvest game with a good bit of humor thrown in.

Finally, my Human Fall Flat, Totally Reliable Delivery service and Gang Beasts skills are paying off in Ludum Dare entries!

I really liekd the game it's like 5 fun out of fun, finally. Also it would sound strange if you open our game, but it reminds me your game, bcs it's too about harvesting things for money to the base :D

Really good entry, thank you!

Very fun game!
Quite difficult to control, but the challenge of moving was enjoyable.
Well made graphics, the sfx and especially the squishy sound was perfect!
The music was also good, nice job!

Really funny game. I love the concept and the atmosphere. The gameplay is really fun, but I have to admit that getting up the cliff was really frustrating

Cool, you also went with the crashed alien ship concept!
I love the music and squeaky aliens. This is super well done!

what a silly game with fun physics, I almost got the cart flying haha. The spaceship part was very hard and almost made me give up after a few minutes, but I got it in the end. The gun is a little dark but everything else was so good! Keep on making games :)

Loved the wobbly eyes and the veggie-pulling harvest action, as well as running around double-fisting carrots. The cart might have needed some sort of item snap to be very useful, as it took longer to put the veggies in the cart than to just run with two of them back to our "friend." I wanted more vegetable pulling and throwing, less cart management and jumping.

Cool concept, really loved the character movement and physics. With a bit more polish to have things like item highlight for stuff that was in reach, and some sort of mechanism to right the character a bit quicker when you fall over would be cool. I didn't make the tower but I managed to sneak past the first door.

I couldn't open the 2nd door, even though I stole the plank. :pensive:

Very fun game! I like the cartoony graphics, just as I like the purposefully messed up physics. The gameplay is interesting and the sound is pretty funny. Overall good job!

I don't usually go for the sort of ragdoll-physics kinda purposefully-frustrating movement style of games such as Gang Beasts and the like, but I did find myself sitting down and playing this for at least 20 minutes until I had enough money for the gun. =P Congrats on building a decently lengthy experience that keeps you wanting to conquer the silly physics!

Wow so much fun. Love the silly ragdoll games like that. Had a carrot fly to the sky at some point but the rest was well mad. Amazing work for a jam everything works well together. Congrats !
