F.U.D: Food Under Development by Stellar Lily
Do you think everything grows on trees? Oh wait, it does.
F.U.D is a humorous cooking simulator: master the art of mixing ingredients together in order to cook dishes and satisfy your clients. But to get those ingredients, first you have to plant them yourself!
Harvest what you need from your field and keep the line moving. Don't keep the queue waiting for too long or you might regret it.
There's a slightly complex crafting tree that you'll have to remember if you don't want to lose.
Start with 5 base ingredients and work your way from here more than 15 different recipes!
Feel free to leave your personal best in the comments when leaving feedback! We'd love to hear how you score -- our personal bests are around 60 orders :sparkles:

The music and sound effects were nice and not too distracting, the art had a unique style and the gameplay was fun.
My only critique is that I would have liked a recipe book as later in the game you are forced to memorize the easier recipes (pasta, ketchup etc) in order to make the more complex recipes.
@zsharpfire About the field: we did plan to include more mechanics on the side of the field (seed combination, limited slots + upgrades, grow time), but we weren't sure if we could include either of those in the limited time that we had so we ultimately decided against it
@the-vecter About the recipe book: same as above - we planned to have a recipe book considering the increasing complexity of the recipes that you have very much noticed. We've included the recipe tree in the itch.io description to compensate, but we definitely understand it's not perfect (especially with 21 ingredients and 16 recipes)
@ominusgalaxy44 About the endless clicking: I can definitely agree with it being tiring over time. We didn't implement extra buttons over the jam period to make sure we could have a polished game loop around that, but we're definitely considering extra actions to speed things up somewhat (like right-clicking to send an item from the inventory bar to the cooking station and back) for an expanded version
@andreia About changing rooms: we initially added the big arrows on the ground to signal the ability to change rooms, but we expected not explicitly mentioning it may cause problems, as we initially faced a similar issue with the recipe indications. For future players, I've added a description to the description both on LD and itch to let them know.
**Thank you all for the feedback** - I'll make sure to check your games out shortly! :sparkles:
I think my only teeny-tiny constructive criticism was the tongue-click SFX. All of the other sounds were so lovely (the bell, the placement of items, etc) but since that sound effect is heard SO much, it might have been better to be more subtle and less mouth-sounding. (A little sizzle to signify when the item has finished cooking would have been great, too, but that's just being nit-picky.)
Loved the aesthetic, loved the background music, and the art was adorable! Super fun game and great entry.

The garden seems a little too quick to me potentially. If i could see my plants more easily it might make it viable to make the grow time slower.

Definitely one of the best entries I've played in a while!
