equniox - the harvest moon by Dawnreaver
Welcome to the days gone by!
You are the oracle, the seer, the elder of a tiny village that still holds true to the old gods. Will you manage to gather enough offerings before the equinox, the harvest moon? Or will your village fall victim to the whims of the gods and violent bandits?
Synopsis
Equinox is a minimalist puzzle and resource management card game.
The game progresses at your pace, so take the time to think what the next play should be. Once you decide to continue to the next turn, all effects (from events and regular resource gathering) will resolve.
You can use miracle cards to stop bad events from happening. Miracles have an immediate effect, but be careful. Using miracles will increase the tribute the gods want, and they might just stop supporting you all together.
The Tutorial should cover this, so I would advise playing at least the first time round.
A word from the designer:
Hi there :)
Thank you for taking the time for looking at this entry! This is actually the first time that I built a digital card game :D I had some more ideas for additional mechanics, but with the scope of the game jam, I decided to play it "safe".
One thing that unfortunately didn't get as much attention as it should is balancing.
You will face some game sessions that seem quite easy and others that are punishing hard.
At any rate, I hope you enjoy :) Feel free to leave a comment with some feedback, advice or questions!
Known issue: - Balancing :,( [Addressed in separate build] - Running the webplayer in full screen mode will cut off interface elements [fixed] - When setting the webplayer to full screen mode before you start the game, miracle cards are scaled incorrectly [Under investigation] Workaround: Start the game first and then go to full screen mode.

==================================Update========================================== - Fixed cut off elements for webplayer - Corrected some typos - Fixed some cut off UI elements - Added standalone player download - Added a rebalanced version, has weighted events so catastrophic events are less likely to appear :)

- long tutorial, but it's ok
+ great story
+ good realization with cards
+ suitable audio accompaniment
EDIT: Forgot to mention - very well done tutorial, good job on finding the time to include it in the game!
To be honest I didn't get the game, what decision could I make to help winning? In the end I just ended up spam clicking the deck to get to the end.
* The story telling
* How it has been kept simple in the design
* How the tutorial has been implemented
* The music
What I liked less :
* The behavior of cards in your hand. It did not show up all the time when I was hovering them.
* I found that the game lacked interactivity. It feels i had low influence on the outcome. Maybe with a bigger variety of cards, this would be different ! :)
Overall, I liked playing the game. Good job !
"The behaviour of cards in your hand. It did not show up all the time when I was hovering them." <- Yeah I encountered this bug that can happen in full screen mode due to scaling, but was unable to isolate the issue :<
