Metit by Tinybuttybutt

[raw]
made by Tinybuttybutt for Ludum Dare 52 (JAM)

It should have been (oops) an intense top down melee brawler inspired by hotline Miami. The goal is to harvest the souls of demons (but it doesn't do anything because we ran out of time, oops). It's very rough and missing one crucial mechanic which is the parry. Even though, we hope you enjoy this game and we would love to hear your opinions on the matter. Good Gaming!!!

movements are satisfying but it's a bit sad that the core mechanic was not implemented and that the respawn menu does not work

I can't get past the spikes. What am I doing wrong?

Neat concept! Music was a banger. I got past the spikes but after the next level the game went black and never came back. Still, nice work!

@matth, ye we really needed a bit more time! I dont know if we can still update the game for this bug, but thanks for the comment!

@kodingnights You need to use the dash, it charges for 0.15 seconds and then you are invincible!

Really nice music, nice design and visual effect but it's a little bit hard to play for left handed ^^'

Looks great, so it's really sad that this feels unplayable in some key areas. Respawn menu doesn't work, space bar stops working after one dash (or takes forever to reload), the collision is really hard to detect - just getting across the spikes in the first room feels near impossible and not in a satisfying way. Seems like it could be great though with some more work!

I really dug what you were going for! The style was really neat, and I loved that the scythe doubled as a sort of feedback (such as when I regained my dash).

I spent far too long trying to get the parry right, until I realized I could just run right past the guy XD A little more telegraphing and mercy on the timing of that one would make it feel just right.

Sorry you couldn't finish what you wanted to! I know that's a tough feeling. Hopefully you all took some lessons in what to prioritize. Think about what did make it into the submission, what took a long time, and what maybe you could do differently for next time. You'll have a winner!
