Selective Reaper by Nick Sandison

[raw]
made by Nick Sandison for Ludum Dare 52 (COMPO)

Harvest the souls of the dead as the grim reaper.

Instructions:

Harvest the souls of the dead by dragging over them while holding down the left mouse button

Don't harvest the souls of the living.

When someone is dead, their eyes turn white, so you know they can be harvested.

Two seconds after someone dies, their soul gets stuck in their body, making them immortal.

The sooner you harvest a soul after it dies, the more points you get.

Lol I like your art and you artstyle you went with. The gameplay was easy to follow and you had really clear instructions on the itch page. Nice work!

I had no idea what this would be from the instructions, but it was a really neat idea! I completely missed one of the deaths the first couple times and felt really silly. Nice art style, clever design, and a cool take on the theme.

Lmao I did not expect that guy falling from above. Game was a bit slow but I actually enjoyed it, looking at them doing their thing- starting at their eyes.

This is a really fun idea. It's simple, yet fun. I could have played it all the way through had there been more levels. Great job!

Doesn't work on Firefox Mac. Chrome works though, just takes a while to load. Also, a play again button would be nice. Anyway, on to my impressions:

Super fun idea. The visuals are good, and the whole design is super funny. Great submission!

Played it a couple times, missed the natural death at first. Also wanted to know if there is some randomness to it. As someone else said, I could have played this for an hour given enough content, it's like an interactive diorama, very fun! And btw, cool thing is, even though itch.io says it's not ment for phones, it works great on my phone

The idea is really fun, and I love the visuals/animations. It's a bit difficult to know when people is dead. But overall a fun idea, and very funny little game. Well done.

Humorous style and concept! It was entertaining trying to guess how each character was going to meet their end haha. I wish the deaths were somewhat randomized to make the game more challenging on replay though, I guess knowing what's going to happen allowed me to get a higher score :)

I really like the concept :), it's a pity it's not longer

All the random events were fun.
Sort of managed to get it to work in firefox. The headers are wrong for embedding but showing just the iframe in a separate tab works. The mouse cursor is offset though unless I resize the window just right.
A restart button would have been nice.
