Heroes, Please by Quoclon

"Heroes, Please" is my take on "Papers, Please." I got there from "harvest", by playing around with language of "harvesting talent", which I think was ultimately a bit of a stretch.
I'm submitting this entry as a Jam, since technically it has a gameplay loop, and a win/lose condition. But, it definitely lacks and polish, and I debated using the Unfinished category.
You get a list of rules that the King requires you to follow when hiring heroes for his journey across the country side. Each hero in the lineup has specific stats. You need to ensure the hero stats meet the kings requirements, until the line of heroes is done.
While I didn't finish, I did learn some new skills with Unity, and some valuable game jam lessons for next time around. I imagine I'll come back later this week and put down some post-mortem thoughts.

The characters look great, and the idea is solid. I purposefully got the king assassinated to see what would happen when I enlisted the wrong person. Turns out it is pretty extreme. I like it.
I think it can become a really nice game!
However; it is lacking in the fun department as the only real challenge is remembering 3 rules. But you completed it in a weekend! Good job.
Great submission.<3
PS. Some of those bards looked like they lied on their resumé, haha.
It lacks some more diverse choice making by the player to pull it over the line, but not that far from it!
I like the feel of the graphics.
Nice start!
One thing you could keep in mind for next time: Make the contrast ratio between text and background maybe a bit higher. The white text on this #d4b19b background was still ok, but I felt the contrast was a bit low.
