Soul Guide by LottaUnicorns

[raw]
made by LottaUnicorns for Ludum Dare 52 (JAM)

The webplayer is best viewed in full screen! The small version cuts off some UI at the top promo.png In this game you take care of elders and guide lost souls towards their future! (Just one elder for now)

Not as much content as we wanted to add to the game, but we learned a lot!

This is a cute little game, I like it, pretty simple as you just click to move around and collect the cat souls, but despite that its pretty relaxing and easy to pick up. Good job :)

@knatterton Thanks! You are right, we could improve the communication :) More people seem to be having a hard time with the interactions

@blueanoli @whalejam thank you for playing! :D

Game setting is absolutely adorable and gameplay is calming. And look at these kitties design, I just can't, it's extremely sweet!

I'll agree with the comments that it's a bit hard to understand what you're interacting with.
Good luck with the further development!

Very promising concept, atmosphere, characters, music and artstyle. Would love to see it expanded with more characters and locations

That poor old cat, hope he's warmer now

Very cute! I won't echo what other people have already said, but I will mention the pathfinding got a bit wonky for me, at one point I couldn't really move out of the bottom corner. I like the idea though!

Really nice art style and a cute concept. I don't think click to walk did you any favors, but that's easily fixed!

I gave someone a blanket, harvested his souls and used them to spawn cats🙀🙀🙀

Cool little game!

Cute little game. I like the aesthetics and the music. I would like to see more, it's too short! there could be a strong narrative aspect to this concept. Great to have tried to do something emotional!

The Audio and Artstyle is very nice! Pathfinding was wonky for me too. Also a bug: once the senior cat parishes there is no way to dismiss the dialog if you have retriggered it after giving him the blanket.

This game is so aesthetically nice and calming. Like you mentioned it's very limited in scope, but it has a lot of potential if given a long running story I presume.

Cute art and nice work, good luck in judging!

Cute art style! There wasn't really all too much to do in it and the movement system didn't work sometimes but I do see where this could go. Keep it up!

Cute character art, and nice atmosphere. A bit short though.
Movement seems very buggy, I click somewhere and they go in the opposite direction and get stuck behind a wall.
It wasn't clear that I picked up the blanket, and the 'could you fetch a blanket' message plays again and got stuck on when I tried to talk to the cat after giving them the blanket.

Wow! The art is adorable, and the music/sounds helped to create a very serene atmosphere. The dialogue was charming and heartwarming! I really enjoyed playing this one ^~^

Nice work! I think the sound design in this is excellent, with the smooth, soothing sounds complimenting the cozy atmosphere. The character design on the main character is also really well done. Like some other people have noticed, it's not super clear when you pick up the blanket, as the sound is quite quiet and is easily drowned out by the background music. I think if you updated the blankets on the shelf to have one fewer blanket when you pick one up, it'd be more clear. Also the game felt really short and took me only like a minute and a half to finish, which was kind of disappointing. I think if you explored the concept some more after LD, you could make an interesting puzzle/exploration game out of this. Other than that, really nice game! Good work!

Really cute art, the music and the vibe is nice, but the movements are a bit janky and wobbly.

Too bad it did not have more content, would have been nice to spend more time with the old man.

Poor grandpa, RIP
