Fangs by Valon
Hi!
This is my third Ludum Dare and my third compo.
The game is finished, sadly I saw a bug last minute and didn't have time to correct it (sometimes you can't be detected anymore, which is actually not really game breaking since you can loose from other things but is still very annoying).
As an audio guy I struggle more than I probably should with the code.
I had a lot of fun with the sounds tho, trying to make it super cliché.
At the end of the day I think this is my best LD game so far, it is pretty fast paced and not impossibly hard like my other two (it is actually rather easy I think). You can even do some cool tricks with the "Y" power.
Used :
C# in Unity.
Wwise for audio.
Controls :
WASD or Arrows
Space for Jump
Y for steroid power (toggle on/off). (walk and jump way better)
F for cloack (toggle on/off). (can't be seen)
E to drink the blood of the victim and regain your blood.
T to instant kill the victim (you get no blood)
E when the victim is dead to hide the body.
Kill as many people as possible before your blood falls to 0 and do it in less than 3 mistakes (people seeing you or dead bodies). At 3 mistakes the alarm will start and every victim will try to escape.
I hope you enjoy and if you have feedback on it I'd be happy to ear it.
My goals for the next time should be to learn at least basic 3D and maybe some animation. Or basically anything related to graphics overall.
I also hope to improve at coding.
Thank!

I didn't necessary meant it to be stealth. I personnaly play it using a lot of toggle on/off on the Y power and jumping around over buildings and stuff, not really with stealth. I mean in a way it is stealth but it's more in and out kind of stuff to me. Not wait around in a corner.
I wasn't aware of the alarm/T sound bug my bad. I definitly have a line of code stopping the alarm sound tho which is weird.
For the music I didn't really have time, I did this fast but I feel the "metal" loop kinda pumps up the gameplay. Could use more variety for sure.
Other than that, pretty good game!
I actually almost didn't put any music but then I decided it would be better even with this super repetitive one which I did in like 10 min since I was late. Maybe it was not the better choice.
Also I can't really put a web build since my Wwise is acting up. I would have to redo a new sound integration I think.
gj!
