How to Play

  • Use WASD or arrow keys to move and put up posters, and E to interact with everything

  • Keep your propaganda bar high by giving people food and water and putting up posters

  • You can carry two posters and food & water at the same time

  • The more propaganda you have, the bigger the head of the people around you, when their head turns blue, bring they in by pressing “E”. You need 30 heads.

  • Giving people food and water makes their head bigger

  • The bigger the head, the easier the dialogue mini-game is

Advertising is the "soul of the business", as they say around here!
I liked it a lot, I noticed some problems, but later I will evaluate ok!

Nice game! I liked your take on the theme, and the graphics were pretty cool. It got quite hard near the end, but I managed to finish it! 30 heads did feel like a bit too much though - it got pretty repetitive near the end - bu otherwise, good entry!

I was blown away when I went to put up a poster and I had to actually straighten it out with WASD. This is a unique take on the theme, kudos for the creativity and mood.

I was also impressed by putting up the poster, and pretty much everything else cloughd said.
Audio was top notch, and I love the art/mood of it all. Great job!

Mood feels good and it's funny!
I was a bit confused about the connections and interactions in the game.
A bit repetitive, but OK for a small game!

It really gets hard at 29. Fun game loop. I couldn't figure out if the water and posters did the same thing or not. I just rushed to do whatever needed to be done. So satisfying to put a sad face behind the gate. Funny how their heads get bigger with propaganda.

Incredible atmosphere, and the art style and sound effects match together perfectly. The minigames to give water/put up the posters are really satisfying, and they're the perfect level of difficulty to get challenging when the game gets frantic.

this game really makes you feel how it is to pass out flyers on the street :two_hearts:

interesting concept (and social commentary). unusual, hand-drawn consistent art style (reminds me of older flash games somehow) comes nicely together with sound effects and a nice gameplay loop. I would love some more variety during the tasks, something more like warioware!

respect for the compo

I got 30 heads. This definitely reminds me of Newgrounds in a good way

I like the art style, it matches the evil theme of this game.

Fun little game! Lack of animations and proper graphics is balanced with simple, but fun and engaging gameplay. Wanted to drop the game after first 3 minutes, but then decided to finish it – wasn't that easy, at least until I got how the propaganda-meter works :)

Hello, congrats for finishing the Compo jam. The graphics and sound are ok for me because they are translating the meaning of the game - nothing to discuss here.

I am concerned about the balance: I have reached 15 heads, but the meter is decreasing at higher speeds than I could increment it with available tools. I think, there should be another propaganda tool like TV that will work passively and raise the bar, so the difficulty spike will not be that high.

I also don't understand the theme and what the game is trying to state. Does the propaganda harvest people? Are politicians the devils?

Overall, 3.5/5 for me. Don't give up, try new thins and improve yourself.

Really funny theme !
I think the first stage of propaganda is really hard to get, it's really too fast for me (and i played dbd before...lol)
The game is really funny !

Nice one. It kept me pleasantly engaged until the victory despite there only being a very few things to do, and discovering half way through that I can hold two items at the same time helped renewed my interest. The devil is adorable in how busy and dedicated he is to the task. Dialogue minigame is not hard but is tense just enough to keep one awake and in a state of trance. The game's message is not some rare sort of enlightenment, but it's good to have a reminder.

hahaha, your game is very mass. I've dated a publicist and in my head it's like that, a prison... Give the freebie and then indoctrinate the person to buy it lol. I found the game's proposal very cool, the mechanic of capturing the characters is also very cool. Congrats on the game lol. Oh, if you have a little time, enter our game and give your review too. I advise you to play the downloaded version, because the Ludum one is not adapting the window correctly!

I beat it! It's a bit repetetive towards the end, but it was satysfying to get all the FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! And the aesthetic is really awesome.

This is a very strange and charming game—I love the hand-drawn art and the overall concept. It is pretty hard and gets repetitive after a while—introducing some more mechanics over time might have helped—but it’s always hard tuning difficulty for compo games. Nice work!

It really sucked me in, unexpectedly. I collected all 30 heads and I wish there was more. I don't really have anything to point out that I would change or that was annoying me. Great entry!

Love the sound effects and music for this one! The artwork feels really charming, and the gameplay loop is simple but made really enjoyable by the speed at which it goes at.

I love your interpretation of the theme. Definitely a twist I haven't seen yet. The collection of different task made for a great experience. Playing through the whole game was fun. And that means a lot for a compo game. Well done.

Can confirm that this is a really hectic game. Never felt overwhelming but you always have something to do. The artstyle is nice and the music gives the entire thing an ominous feeling overall. The interaction noise was fantastic as well.

I feel like there is too little variety overall though, you go through the same two actions over and over. It's technically enough for a small game, especially for a Ludum Dare game but I don't think it's fun for as long as you need to do it to finish the game. I think reducing the amount of heads you need to win to about 15 would help the gameplay feel less stale.

Super cute idea, and I love the take on the theme - the most clever I've seen. Very neat. Gameplay is simple but interesting and intuitive. I think 30 is a lot - I'd have gotten the point with a much lower headcount. I enjoyed it - great art, nice entry.

I have no idea what I just played XD but it was surprisngly fun, even if the actions were repetivite. I guess that's a good sign that you captured something satisfying in the gameplay. The bit about adjusting the poster was not intuitve to me--I had to read some comments to know why I couldn't move away, and for some reason my first attempts to use the arrows didn't adjust the poster enough. So I didn't get that "aHa" moment.

The sounds were really cute, and the artwork just shows that style triumphs over all! Very well done :)

FOOOOOOOOOOD!!! The graphics and music work together to create an interesting mood, in a really good way. The concept is also good. As others have stated I think the game would do well with more variety, maybe different tests for giving away the food and water or "enemies" that you need to shoo away? When I noticed that you can pick up two posters and one food and water at the same time the game became a bit easier as I didn't need to run back and forth as much. The sound effects deliver their intent clearly and the little plus icons are a good touch. Nice job!

Managed to make it! FOOOOOD!

It was so simple, but it was also so stressful keeping the propaganda meter up! (especially because I didn't notice you could take multiple items at once!)

Congrats on delivering it by yourself!
