:hammer: Description

Santa Ltd. Express Toy Workshop is a fast-paced game about making toys by joining together different pieces.

You have just arrived at your new job for a famous toy company, but the Christmas deadline comes closer and closer and the job accumulates. You'll need to make a toy every 10 seconds or you'll get fired!

Are you going to let all those kids have a Christmas without presents?

:hammer: Instructions

  • Click on a toy piece and drag it
  • Drop the piece onto the empty figure
  • Try to meet the kids requests (right-hand panel) using pieces that they like and avoiding the ones they dislike

Love the art style - so visually rich and the creepy gothic vibe is a great match (audio works great too). I found it pretty challenging to play (maybe as I'm on a laptop trackpad not mouse right now) but really like the concept and had fun!

Fun game, but a bit stressful.
The art style, music and overall style all fits together like a charm.
I like how the game gets more difficult over a short time. Perfect for a jam game.
Thanks for having a tutorial.

@simono We didn't think about trackpad users when designing the controls, I can imagine it's far more difficult, I'm sorry about that

Thanks for playing and I'm glad you liked it!

The mood was excellent nightmare before Christmas style! The music and graphics matched great. I had some issues getting the pieces to snap together. It would be cool to have an easy mode where the parts where in bins and you just had to click the specific pieces and they would move into position. Overall I thought it was great for a Jam and I had fun!

Love the art. It's a bit hard to be on time, but eventually you get used to it. My best result is 13 satisfied kids.

Spooky atmosphere, nicely done art. Unfortunately I am on trackpad and I can't even make one kid happy

Loved the rather creepy mood, the music is really well chosen for the atmosphere. A bit too hard for my touchpad, can't get more than 4. Still fun!

@codechomper Nightmare before Christmas was exactly our inspiration he he. Having an easy mode might be a good idea, thanks for the feedback!

@batkoi 13 satisfied kids is a great score actually! :eyes:

This game is really hard, but you match the theme very well! It was a tough challenge assembling a toy in 10 seconds while also choosing all of the pieces in a small amount of time! Nice artwork and environemnt as well!

One suggestion I have to up the challenge even more is a rating scale as you go along, and if your performance drops, you are fired!

A bit too tricky for me, the most toys I managed to create was 3 and certainly didn't have time to consider any of the choices I was making! But really cool entry, the graphic style is lovely, and the overall tone is the right side of creepy :)

Haha it's true that we have the same kind of game with the Hired/Fired principle :p

Sometimes I had a hard time to know if it's a right or left arm.

Cool interpretation and theme, losing was a bit too sudden. But I had fun making (bodging?) cursed toys

really nice art style and I found the levels challenging enough to keep me scrambling for pieces but it never felt unmanageable.

6 out of 6 happy children! the 10-sec theme and mechanics blended so well in your game... easily one of the best ld games I played. couldn't get enough of the eerie playful music and the gothic toy machine art style. the game is kinda hard but manageable since one could just deliver a whole toy in time to keep playing (since we don't get evaluated till the end). I had a dying wish to see more levels you guys designed... I swear I'm about to have a dream about this game tonight. Amazing work guys!

satisfyingly spooky, aesthetically amusing, and entertainingly engaging, your game wins my affection in definitely less than 10 seconds! The gameplay is surprisingly easy to understand yet tricky to master, the intense and almost addicting experience matches greatly with the chosen theme. It takes a while for me to realize that finishing the toy quickly is more important than matching the children's preferences, which is an elegant way to teach players the importance of "every 10 seconds". The animation displaying all players' works in the end is also very effectively rewarding. 10/10 on the art and music. Great game & personal favorite!

@root-97 Wow! Thank you so much for your comment! We've been receiving a lot of comments on the difficulty but I'm glad you had fun either way

I don't know if dreaming about this game would be a good thing, I hope you sleep well tonight hahaha

@tarosie Thank you so much for your comment and kind words! You are completely right, our intention was to make the players realise at some point that finishing a toy in time is more important than delivering a "good" toy when you are under such pressure. We are glad you had fun with our little game, thanks for playing!

A creepy and terrifying take on Santa (kinda reminded me of Family Guy's Road to the North Pole).

I managed to satisfy 1 child!
