Demon Dash by Avalanche Games
[WASD keys to move, AA or DD to dash]
Demon Dash was created in 3 days as a submission for the Ludum Dare 33 game jam weekend; with the theme of "You are the monster". After playing the game you will quickly realise that being a monster is an extremely fun and button mashingly exhausting task.
Play online with your friends, against other players or just go solo! Hope you enjoy it and please tell me what you think! Should I carry on working on this game? Create more maps? LET ME KNOW!!
Demon Dash was created by one developer, @OfficialWoaka from @AvalancheGames_
edit: I created a timelapse video of me making Demon Dash, here's the link

I really want to work on this more. More maps and maybe more content to multiplayer!
I like how landing on hordes of them from above works more efficiently than dashing into them from the side. That's pretty fun.
I was hoping for win or lose conditions, but finally figured out I had infinite life. I guess that's "being a monster is an extremely fun and button mashingly exhausting task", but kind of doesn't work for me as a player.
Especially satisfying stomping on people hehe.
Great art and music overall :D
I can see the appeal for players that love to be powerful and unkillable though.
Also, if anyone's having trouble with the big guys, just jump at the flying things on their shoulders until you kill them, then jump at the big guy and keep pushing towards them - you'll stay off the ground and just keep attacking.
I was hoping someone would comment and explain how to beat it.
@Chris Olsen, finally, someone who shares the same interest as me. Sitting on heads.
Yep could be the physics stack slowing everything down... I literally didn't have enough time to optimise it much ):, thinking back I should have destroyed the arrows after a time frame and maybe set a limit to the number of possible enemies spawned at a time.
Make sure you guys check out the timelapse I made!
Would like to see more!
Also forgot to mention that the link to the timelapse video is in the description!
It reminds me of Risk of Rain a little for the visuals and the hordes of enemies.
I couldn't try the multiplayer mode.
Great job overall! I'd like more maps now please ;-)
More maps?? Okay :D, although you'll have to wait until after the judging ends. I don't think I can edit the game anymore.
It feels nice to dash around and to stomp on those little knights.
Keep up the good work!
Outside of it, we fit in easily, the artwork is cool, the moves are evident... then yes, you can create new map.
The only default is the freezing of the web version.
I've the same concept of soul collect, and the same problem of freezing for web version, due to the excessive number of actors and shooting... Then felicitation, you've find the best concept of this ludum dare ;)
@n8b Thanks for the feedback! I noticed the game does freeze when too many entities have been spawned, there's no real optimisation for that at the moment. Although one could be to limit or destroy the entities after a certain time frame.
