Cats spawn every 10 seconds. Last an entire shift (2 minutes) to win! WebGL version on itch (link below).

-Click the escapee kitties several times to prevent them from reaching the door (But make sure you're not holding anything before doing so!)

-When you are holding the correct combination of ingredients, you can click on a customer's icon so they can enjoy their beverage.

-3 mistakes == lose

Graphics are super cute! The how-to-play does a great job of explaining what the game is, but not the controls, so I was a bit confused on what counts as saving a cat and how to call someone's name for an order. Fun idea though!

Really well made game with adorable art and a cute concept! Some of the options were a bit difficult to differentiate, but once I went through the proper training I was A-Okay :)

Overall this is one of the best games I have played for Ludum Dare 51!

The artwork is amazing, the sound design is light but appropriate. The gameplay is quite fun and challenging at times. The only gripe I have is that I dont particularly enjoy spam clicking in games, but thats more of a personal preference. Maybe if you had to drag the cat away instead?

Regardless, I had lots of fun playing. Fantastic work!

Loved it! The cat cafe theme is great, the art is great, the gameplay's fun. I do think some tweaking could be done on difficulty. At first I was getting overwhelmed really fast but then I really the placement of everything and was never close to a cat escaping. And despite that it was still quite fun :)

@krasimir-balchev Ya! the plan was to have hiding spots for the kitties so a lot more than 3 get on the screen at the same time. when I looked at the time left we were in a panic and didn't even get to make the in-game tutorial!

Really enjoyed this haha! Took me a bit to figure out you had to click on the cats a bunch for them to stay. (Never knew Fydo hated me so much D:) Also noticed a tiny typo on the page description about clicking cats (repeats "to pick them up") All in all though felt very polished, the vibes were great and loved the art! Great work both of you!

@thestoff ya, now that I think about it, we shoulda made it so you have to drag the cats back to the start.

I really love the amazing pixel art. Kitties are cute! The costumers also looks great.

The gameplay is simple and complete to be enjoyable. Though I didn't figure out how to stop the cats at the first time.

When it comes to a moment that I saw a cat rotating flying towards the front door, it really added to the sense of humor. Yeah cats can do anything XD

Lovely graphics, really adorable!

Things I thought were great:
- Colour Palette
- ^Graphics as a whole (I loved the usage of pixel art here)
- The "multitasking" gameplay
- The simplicity of the UI

Things that I would've loved to see:
- An endless mode with a difficulty scaling (I would've played this for hours to get THE best score in the world haha)

Really nice art, I was a tad confused on how to interact with the cats at first but I eventually got a hang on it. I feel like the theme hurts the game a tad though since it doesn't really increase in difficult time wise. I guess adding more customers at the end might have done it. Anyhow great game, and lovely looking one at that!

Love this! It took me a few goes to get used to it, but then I won a couple of times. I was greatly amused by the cat that started cartwheeling towards the exit. Loved the fydo cameo and I can't overstate how much I enjoyed the art. I wasn't sure whether I was catching the cats at first when they were disappearing by the exit, but it became clearer once I got better at it. I liked Clonze's idea of dragging a cat back to a safe zone in another comment. Nice work from both of you!

@mechanicallife I could have created some overlap of customers by having them think for a while.
Like they show up and say: "Hmmmm..." (more waiting = higher difficulty). And also cats being able to hide behind things was something I didn't get to add.

Very cute game! Professional-looking pixel art, very impressed on that front.

I wish the things in the game had a tooltip to say what they were. It was hard to remember what was the tea in particular.

One kind of frustrating thing was I kept losing, and I'm not really sure why? I stopped the cats, made the drinks, and probably did something wrong, but I didn't know what it was that actually made me fail.

This game would be hugely improved by just a little more feedback to the player  really cute and fun though! Great job!

@bravelytyped hmm, maybe you dropped too many drinks when trying to stop the cats? if holding a cup/mug without trashing it, it counts as 1 mistake. or maybe some guests didn't receive their order within 30seconds? I'm fairly certain the game doesn't have any bugs in terms of losing/winning.

Great game! Loved the graphics and the audio. Having the kittens just come rolling in and then having them hiss at you when you put them back into their play pin was just fun and hilarious. The repetitive task of getting customers their drinks was also really fun to. I've got no complaints other than maybe make the winning game screen come in slower or something, as while repetitively clicking on a cat the win screen popped up and then I accidentally clicked on "play another game" so I didn't get a chance to see what was on the screen. Overall though, I really liked the game. Well done!

@eoshadows unfortunately the win screen didn't make it in time LOL, only the lose screen has a special screen.

I had a lot of fun playing this! The graphics are just darn adorable, and I found juggling the drinks orders and cats both challenging and satisfying as gameplay. I might recommend making the meow sound effect a little less frequent as it starts getting a little repetitive after a while?

Overall, I liked this game a lot - I hope you'll continue to develop this project further! I can see so many ways you could continue to expand on this concept (more drink orders? special cats that require certain feats?, etc etc). Great job!!

Super cute! I kind of expected the customers to pick up on speed, but it was still super fun to get their orders. First time I tried I didn't read the instructions so I failed miserably, lol. Then on my second try I misunderstood about clicking the cats and didn't notice until later that I had to continuously click on them, oops!

I love the vibe of the game and its cuteness, it's definitely a chill, time killer game and I hope it gets more updates post-jam, I want to play much more of it. Would definitely be cool if it had points, some upgrades (Maybe toys to slow down the cats?). Things like that. But right now it's still a full, fun game and I love it. I shared with my friends, I know they'll love it too.

Very cute, fun game! Loved the variants in cats and customers. The art is great, small nitpick is I would have loved to see a shadow walk to the door and then appear as a customer, would have been a great little warning. As it is now though the customers don't enter in a pace where you'd need a warning, so all good all around I suppose :) Great stuff!

As a pixel artist I give you the highest score for the graphics. The starting screen sets the mood perfectly.
Surprisingly, it was very easy to remember the order while handling escaping cats.
Much appreciation for the tutorial section. So much work for my understanding. I feel loved.

Oh my what a pretty game! I'm always in awe when art is so good. Characters are really charming (and attractive!). The overall atmosphere is excellent and I could definitely spend way too long playing games like these.

Gameplay was not very obvious at all and I kept losing without understanding why. I assumed it was just a classic "tend to the customers" sort of game. But then I read the help and I learned about the cats escaping. I had seen them in game but thought they were just a cute distraction to kill time. There should at the very least be some sort of feedback when something bad happens (cat escaping, wrong order), even just a simple positive/negative sound effect. Because as it is now everything is very obscure, and losing without understanding why is quite annoying. With a tiny bit of polish and in-game instructions, this could really shine!

Really nice game, well polished and with extremely curated graphics (we're talking 5 star graphics here). The jam theme was implemented in a very original way, at first I thought I had to deliver the order before the customer's sprite disappears and was about to give up, then I read the rules on the main page and... everything was clear all of a sudden. As it turns out, the jam theme is actually cat related... I mean, of course it is xD

I found the gameplay fun, and all the micromanagment actually takes some concentration. On the other hand, I think this game could benefit from an increasing in difficulty as time passes, and maybe I would have removed the two minutes limit in favor of a score system to encourage replayability.

In a game like this music would have probably improved the experience quite a bit (even a very simple, relaxing guitar loop for example), but I appreciated the care put into the sound effects.

Thank you, and good luck with the jam!

Blown away by the art, extremely polished and impressive! The game's fun, but the art really sells it.

It was a little bit hard to distinguish what parts were interactable, even with the outline, though.

Great game, guys, really well done!

(I did encounter a bug where spam-clicking a cat dumped me back in the main menu, but I can't reproduce it.)

The art and the idea are really great, and the serve-while-clicking-on-cats was innovative and fun.

I think this game could have a better job at giving feedback - am I close to losing? Does clicking the cats do anything except for making them mew? Did I serve the right coffee?
Without reading the instructions it was hard to tell if I'm doing well or not, and even after that I often got surprised by that "game over" screen. I think with a bit more polish and self-explanatory visual effects it could be really awesome :)

06. Oct 2022 · 20:20 UTC
@sleepymenace it might have been this: When a mistake happens it waits 1-2 seconds before acting on the outcome. ie: losing.

When clicking on a cat, if you are holding a drink thats 1 of your 3 strikes. Either that or a coincidence of a customer leaving the cafe after 30 seconds which is another mistake.

Very nice game! I love the art style! :)

I played the game over at itch.io without the info about "spamclicking".
However, I must have gone game over for about 10 times before I understood what I had to do with the cats.

At first I tried drag and drop but without success.
multiple clicks would eventually turn the cats border red, but red is never a good sign: it suggests that you clicked too many times and the cat is angry which maybe is goint to give you a strike.

maybe it should be the other way around: red first, and green at the end, so you know you're doing it right ;)

Amazing pixel art! So adorable, and I like the details on the customers. The game was fun, but I think I would've liked to see the level of difficulty scale up as the shift went on. Maybe the number of cats approaching the door could increase or the drinks could be more complex. Or, maybe the order frequency could increase exponentially. The game instructions were pretty straightforward, so I didn't have any trouble figuring out how to play and completing orders. I learned how to submit the orders with visual cues. Great job!

I'm a sucker for any game with cats. Simple mechanics (once I read the instructions. whoops), the ended is a bit sudden though, I thought maybe the game had crashed after I got to 2 minutes. A post LD addition could be an end of shift screen maybe?
