Well done on a finished game! Movement felt a little gummy and why not map another key for attack without switching to mouse?

Congrats on submitting your game, Compo is tight so every submission is considered a victory! Next time try to prioritize and add sound to your game, I know you probably didn't have time for this but sound really brings games to a new level!

Not bad, I'm wishing there was some sound, but otherwise it was good.

Good basic gameplay, nice coherent graphic style. For the future, next step would be do add some effects (gfx, screen shakes, lightning, this sort of things). Good entry!

Congratulations on a finished compo entry :thumbsup_tone1: Like others have mentioned - the cave man seems a bit on the heavy side and maybe attack could have been a key as well.

Nice game! I don't understand what the x33 at the top left refers to? it seems that the character have meat on his belt, but that number ?
* The character movement is a bit slow
* The woman animation near the fire is nice!

Nice entry overall. I also think that the movement was a bit slow and mainly because of that I didn't have patience to play too much.

@sdelay that is the game winning condition.. number goes down as woman eats the meat

Thank you all for comments. Had just one day for this LD, but wanted to finish something, so this is all I got. Plans were much much bigger.. as usual.

Interesting idea. My embedded game was a bit cropped but it was not too bad. I think it would be fun to make the animals actually hurt you, so you'd have to avoid them. Then speed them up every let's say 5 meat deliveries, making the game more and more challenging as time passes. Good job.

:D Very cute game! A little simple, but worked very well! Nice use of the theme. Great animations! Cute graphics.

Wow, you did this in only *one* day? That's great work! The art is simple, but works really well with the caveman theme. I was a bit confused about whether the number in the corner was the victory condition or the loss condition, but I quickly worked out that it was the first one.

My favourite part was the subtle difficulty ramp. At first the game felt too easy, as the boars drop two pieces of meat and run right to you for an easy kill. Over time, however, they gradually stopped spawning, and by the end there were only rabbits, which run away from you to the edges of the screen. Combined with your slow movement speed, the game quickly becomes much more difficult, and I eventually lost with just four pieces of meat left.

There were a couple of layering issues, with the caveman being rendered behind objects he was actually in front of and vice versa, but for one day's work, I can overlook things like that and the lack of sound (I understand that's not a priority). Well done!
