Story

You are a Rogue human in a factory of AI drones. This factory has noticed your presence and dispatched it's enforcer drones to excise this error. The factory pings your location every 10 seconds in order to tell the enforcers where to search. Each of these enforcers have a unique character in how they attempt to find you. They have different levels of detecting ability and speed, utilize that to your advantage:

Enforcer Descriptions

SEEKER - RED

This enforcer is a all-rounder. Just as fast as your average human, decent at detecting your presence. Of course keeping away from it is best, but if it's impossible, attempt to act like a drone to throw it off.

INSPECTOR - YELLOW

This enforcer specializes in detection. It knows how humans tick and can spot you in a crowd regardless of how well you're disguising among the drones. Best strategy for this one is to keep far away from it. If it spots you for long enough it will call the rest of the enforcers.

HUNTER - BLUE

This enforcer specializes in speed. It is faster than even the quickest humans. It's a dire situation if it starts chasing you. However in exchange for it's speed, it has a movement based detection system. If you're running it will detect you right away, so be careful not to run in it's presence. Best strategy is to walk, act like a drone, or stay still. This drone can also see quite far, so be wary of running.

Controls

WASD or Arrow Keys to move. You run by default Left Shift to walk Left Control to act like a drone. (If you move it will work like left shift, if you stay still the drone AI will take over)

Other Tips

The upside down triangles are the locations are the ping locations of the drones, staying away from them will generally cause you to survive longer, but don't get caught running.

Each Enforcer has a field of view that is shown on the ground, use this to avoid them.

Final Thoughts

I was really hoping to add more to this but I ran out of time, please focus your feedback on the mechanics and balance of the game, though honestly I'm open to whatever thoughts you have to share. Thank you!

I had a lot of fun with this! The map was large and interesting and felt "alive" with all the other drones in it. Once you learned the personalities of the different enforcers it made for really dynamic gameplay as you tried to sprint away from the yellow one and sneak past the blue one.

Obviously there's not much in the way of an objective/endgame/win condition at the moment, but I could see a really interesting full game here if there were objects throughout the map you had to collect/interact with.

The graphics were simple but clean. The line-of-sight projections worked really well, especially since you could see the enemy's field of view before you saw the enemy themselves. It's pretty subtle but I like how the lighting on the walls is brighter/deeper based on how close you are to the wall and how directly you're looking at it.

Basic SFX including an alarm, etc. when you get noticed would go a long way for making it more immersive.

Nice work for 48 hours! I've added the "inspector" from your game to the fan art compilation on [my profile.](https://ldjam.com/users/jeremy-ryan/)

I love this idea! There are many, many possible ideas here!
The map is well made, the controls are very smooth.
A bit lacking in forcing music, but such a great atmosphere!
I'm sure this game can have a future outside of Ludum Dare

This was a really neat concept! I really liked how sometimes it's best to be sneaky, but other times you really just need to run for your life. The fields of view and lighting were really nicely done, and the drone AI makes it feel like they are actually all going about some unknown tasks. I'm still curious if the pink drones do anything special. I think balance-wise it would be good if the pings increased in frequency over time, to add a bit of a difficulty curve. It could also be cool if running when you're too close to the drones would lead to them sounding an alarm and putting down a ping for the enforcers. Overall I think this has a lot of potential, and I'd be super excited to see it developed further!
