WAIT !!!

Time Warp is now a fully featured game, released on Steam and itch.io ! Please welcome Time Warp... INFINITE !

screenmenu.png

Ticky, the God of Time, has accidentally shattered time and space themselves :fearful: Fortunately, as the very god of time, many temples were erected by humans in honor of Ticky, who is able to teleport to any of them.
Your quest is to help Ticky restoring peace in all of the dimensions, but beware : you will warp to another space-time every ten seconds!

Gameplay

Time Warp is a mash-up between a platformer, a roguelike, and WarioWare. Each run will have you complete a series of 10-second levels, which are randomly chosen. Levels come one after the other seamlessly, and you certainly won't have much time to figure what's going on ! Collectible hourglasses are scattered in every level, but can you grab all of them before the next warp ? Risks and rewards ! If you collect enough of them, you might be able to level up and improve your abilities !

screenlvl.png

Features

  • 26 short stages to discover, changing for every run !
  • 4 game modes so even beginner platforming players can have a go !
  • 11 abilities to unlock : double-jump, air control, crushing enemies...
  • Cute-ish, minimalist graphics, yet with some nice visual effects !
  • Too many 10-second music loops !

screen5.png

Controls

Move with the Left / Right arrow keys and jump with Ctrl, Shift, Space or even the Up arrow key !

Don't forget to turn the sound ON :loudsound: as the music helps figuring out how much time you have left ! :musicalnote:
Please note that there might be a sound bug in Firefox, you might want to use Chrome instead. I'll try and fix this.

Have fun !

I absolutely loved developing this game, I'm actually surprised at how much content it is possible to create in only two days ! I hope you'll love playing it, and I'm looking forward to receive and give some feedback !

Interesting take on the theme. One thing missing I think was double jump to save myself from falling to pits...

@denvil : Thanks ! Actually, double-jumping is one of the abilities you may unlock by leveling up, but every stage can be completed (and every hourglass collected) without any of these abilities. But I agree that it may help sometimes !

Very nice game.

( - )

* the amount of suns in level 3 is a bit too much. (also the generator gave a harsh one at first; 3rd and 4th runs were much more forgiven). But you could maybe introduce 1 sun or 2 rather than 3

( + )
* Random level generation is great
* controls feel good
* graphics good

Well done.

A solid game! The controls felt a bit slow and floaty which is a bit frustrating when you need to get places quickly. But other than that, there's not to much to complain about. Sound design and graphics felt solid and it was fun to play. Good work!

Very addictive. Concept seems kinda simple yet it's very polished and has a lot of neat features. Top contender for me.

An excellent submission, and very challenging! After many tries I was able to complete a run with like 4800+ pts. There was one level that I hated to see, the scribble leap one, I NEVER COMPLETED IT lol

![timewarp0.png](///raw/eac/z/51fa2.png)![timewarp1.png](///raw/eac/z/51fa3.png)

Excellent visuals and audio and polish and even with a level up system. My only complaint is that I feel like the jumps are a bit too floaty, which made scribble leap just a lot harder lol

@everyone : Thanks a lot for these incredible comments !

@hungryroy : the easiest way to pass Scribble Leap is by avoiding moving horizontally and just timing your jumps. Also, now you've unlocked Training mode, you may practice this level as much as you want

Man this is really polished considering you got it done in time for the Compo, great work!

Game looks and plays great. I felt like you could give upgrades a bit more often. Took me like 3 or 4 tries before I even knew they existed despite always going for all the hourglasses. Also, 10 seconds to see a new level and go through it is pretty difficult. Would be nice if there was like a 3 second countdown before each stage that gave you a couple seconds to plan your route before the level started.

The whole game is well polished and enjoyable to play. The levels are rich in content especially for a compo game. The upgrade system is a clever design which makes the same level different.

I love the visual effects especially the screen effect when few seconds left. It provides players with a brief feeling about remaining time without using explicit UI panel. This concept is great.

Nice work!

This is really good, I enjoyed it. One thing, though: A and D both make you go right, so I was forced to use the arrow keys, playing right handed, which I suck at. I'd love to see that little adjustment made :)

i Love the art and music ! gameplay feel great too . You said the music helps to know how much time left but i think a timer on screen will help me more haha, even i i lesten carefully the song i dont know when timer will stop

Cool game ! I was a little confused by the lack of a timer to refer to, but it was fun (and hard !).

Also I miss controller support as I suck at platformer with keyboard x)

Very nice platformer. Graphics are simple but the effects and change of colors are great! At first I found the jump a bit too short, but I understood why when seeing the upgrades.

The time we have left is not super clear, even with the music on, it could be accentuated. And death is very punitive, 10 levels with no death is quite hard, but the fast pace make up for it and makes you want to play 'just a last game'.

Oh you've created so much for a Compo! I love how smooth the control is, the graphics, and the music for sure. It's quite enjoyable playing this one.

One of the best I've come across so far. Great job, it feels so polished. I like the risk reward nature of the whole thing and just how clean the whole experience is. Top marks!

Great job on the game. There was a lot of content and it was really polished for a compo game so well done. I liked the risk and reward aspect of the hourglasses. I thought it worked well with not having an exact timer on screen and just the screen effects intensifying to judge how much time you had left. The platforming was solid and the upgrades were cool and felt impactful. Really solid entry.

Wow! Thats awesome :D I have a very specific feeling: Playing on an arcade machine in a dark night club in the early 90s in Berlin with some heavy techno playing in the background
