Don't get caught! by nmrsmn

[raw]
made by nmrsmn for LD33 (JAM)
My first LD entry... I'm still kinda noob, but have learned allot the last 72hours. The idea is that because you are a monster you shouldnt be seen by NPC's wandering around and get to the other side of the map to your target..
It's still a bit buggy, but I plan on finishing it after I get some good nights sleep..

Levels are procedurally generated (seeded, so level 1 will always be level 1), which makes it possible to have infinite number of levels (and a chance on bugs and crashes since I only played the first 25levels)

I used the sprites and the audio from the opengameart.com website.

Loved the Retro graphics and the running animation is so cute, sometimes you almost wish you'd never escape xD Great Job, lots of fun!

Very nice, I like the idea, controls feel good.

Having no minimap and being lost was part of the fun, but having some kind of indication of which direction is the exit would have been nice. Even if it's only at the very beginning of the level. The exit itself can easily be mistaken to something else and is easy to miss. But enough with my complains. It's an incredible first Ludum Dare entry, with replayability, good graphics (even though it's not yours) and a nice take on the theme. Well done

Very nice graphics, a like the music as well.

Gameplay was fun, only problem I had was occaisionally I glitched onto platforms I couldn't get down from.

It's really fun to run through these worlds - it's just really hard to tell where the "exit" is. Congrats on the procedural map gen!

Controls were solid, and the concept was fun, especially with the infinite levels. Art is nice, though I know that wasn't done by you.

I wish there were a compass pointing me in at least the general direction to go or something. I get that you want to feel lost, but some direction would have been nice. Also I got stuck a couple times on raised platforms after coming off of a bridge.

Thanks for all the feedback! I'm defo gonna continue and make a post-LD version with atleast a compass which points you in the general direction ;). Maybe add some other features too that I had planned but didn't made it to the game yet..

Great game and nice idea.
A compass would be nice, and maybe the enemies' vision (you know, something red or blue or whatever to see where they're watching... I don't really know how to explain it).
Good job !

Found a bug where I managed to walk up onto a higher platform, and then I couldn't leave. Several times actually, in different places.

Nice with the procedural generation though.

Very nice. The music really sets the tone well in this game. However, several times I ended up stuck on a platform after crossing over from a bridge. No apparent way to get down, and the bridge was no longer accessible either.
