What's Under The Teapot? by thegamearchitect
My Ludum Dare 51 competition submission. Solo project. All code, art, assets, were created from scratch for this game jam within the 48 hour period.
A classic take on spot the difference. Play by clicking the mouse on UI buttons, or the game pieces. Test your performance in short term memory and instant recall.
The camera can be moved with the UI joystick in the lower left hand corner of the screen.

- I managed to rotate the camera in a way that I was under the table and I had no idea how to go back
- When I lost a life, I couldn't see how much I have left.
- I did miss sounds.
- I didn't know what's the end goal?
Besides these, congratulations for finishing a game! That's the hardest thing to accomplish.
The graphics, and especially the lightening, are generally gorgeous.
The camera rotation is a great idea
Fun game I enjoyed it :) the room behind the camera is very impressive I'm surprised you faced the camera away from it initially cos it looks so nice. And don't worry I won't tell anyone the trick that you can see what the next object is going to be by looking down the spout
The graphics are interesting, and I would say that you have in your hands a good prototype of a differentiated memory game. Good job!
I agree with others that the pace could be slightly faster. No real reason to wait for feedback after guessing (unless there is anticipating drums or something to enhance the experience). I feel the game could start with multiple objects already at the table and moving them around could give a nice little boost to the difficulty.
Camera movement is nice, but I didn't feel you need it really.
Nice work.
Nice teapot though - well done on submitting!
Also because after each new addition the older items aren't shuffled and the new item has different tint to it, it makes the gameplay less about memorizing and more about just looking for different colored pedestald and clicking it.
Good job with 3D models for a solo jam, but the gameplay was quite lacking.
The camera controls were an interesting choice, but I'm not sure it was really needed. Holding right-click and moving around seemed like a more intuitive approach to me.
All in all not bad, but I wish there was more to do for the player.
I would like to know how much time I have left before the teapot is moved.
Fun little game, moves a little slow, though, waiting for the time to elapse for it to move back and forth. Great job, however!
But still its always good to get something playable and working during a 48 jam so great job :)
I haven't tried, but it looks like the game supports mobile. If that's the case, that's super cool!
It's a little bit too slow for me. I could play for 300 seconds first time without failing. I like to think that I could do better if I play a bunch of rounds, but I'm not going to try :/
Maybe it would be nice to put the teapot back immediatley when the player clicks an item? That could make the game faster (without ditching the 10-second criteria).
In this case I think the theme was your enemy, because 10 seconds slow the pace a little.
Graphics look good, it did get a bit harder to memorize everything at the end, but it could really benefit from having multiple items be added per round, at least in the later game.
Good job! -Peter
If the locations of the previous items gets randomized every turn the game would have been way more challenging. Good job on all those graphics though.
It is great submition, I love this style

with some polish I can see this being quite good.
