Cataclysm

How to Play:

Cataclysm is a classic tower defense game that focuses on elemental reactions and synergies between different towers and enemies. It features a 10 second looping timeline based combat system that allows you to determine at which second your towers "activate" in order to create the reactions you desire.

The game will pause every 10 seconds to allow you to buy/upgrade/sell towers and modify the timeline.It is important to constantly reposition both the timeline and towers to face the monsters coming from different lane. Toggle autoplay if you want it to keep looping over your current configuration.

  • You can place a maximum of 10 towers.
  • Some enemies are immune to certain towers, so look out for that.
  • There are too many elemental reactions to explain so just find out what they do while playing ehe.
  • You lose once your health drops to 0. The longer you survive the higher you score.

Reactions:

Barricade = Earth + Steel = Stun for 1 tick

Blind = Steel + Light = Slow

Circulate = Air + Electricity = AOE electric damage

Convection = Air + Fire = AOE fire damage

Corrosion = Water + Steel = Damage over time

Electrolysis = Water + Electricity = Damage over time

Evaporate = Water + Fire = Increased damage on hit

Gloom = Air + Dark = Slow

Humidify = Air + Water = AOE water damage

Judgment = Light + Dark = Increased damage on hit

Melt = Fire + Steel = Increased damage on hit

Overclock = Electricity + Steel = Deals large AOE on kill

Poison = Earth + Dark = Damage over time

Smite = Electricity + Light = Decreased enemy resistances

Wealth = Earth + Fire = Increased gold on kill

Diffusion = when there are too many elements that do not react with each other, they might diffuse and not react at all.

I like the base idea, but maybe you tried to makes too much different interactions which lead to a bit of a mess, nice attempt anyway !

Good job. It's fun and looks nice. I don't understand the rules preventing me from putting down the turrets sometimes.

This is a super smart concept, but also very hard to play as you don't really know where which enemy is going to be at which timestep. The Graphics are also quite nice but the UI can cluster the screen quite a bit, even if you can close it, but i wouldnt know how to fix this easily.

Music is great. The limit that I can only place 10 towers is not that great in my opinion and the towers that I placed didn't have fast enough firerate (I placed almost one of every type).

Concept is amazing but it's quite hard to play with the UI. Everything else is something that I'd play hours :)

Great concept with lots of potential. However I wish the game didnt rely on having to read a massive text in order to fully understand the mechanics, which most people are not going to want to do. The music was nice.

Interesting game, It was very fun. The UI is quite messy and it's quite hard to know where to go to upgrade the turrets but it's the only thing holding this game back. Good job !
