The Artist by Tomga
Play your cards wisely and defeat The Artist. But be careful, as he likes to paint on your cards!
I suggest downloading the game, as the web version is missing some assets. If you do play the web version, make sure to fullscreen it!
You can also play it on itch io here: https://tomga.itch.io/the-artist !

I like the idea of the Artist drawing on your cards to give them new abilities! It seems like I'm just incentivized to play my entire hand whenever I can though, otherwise I'll be at a disadvantage.
Neat idea though! I always like seeing card-based games in LD. :)
I think you got a nice idea, but the user experience need an improvement for player to understand how to play correctly the game.
It's a shame because I love the concept but couldn't make it past the 3rd move to experience much of the game.
I didn’t understand right away that when my cards are highlighted, I can attack. As a result, he lost. Good graphic design in the style of the 90s.
Now to the critique. Sometimes the enemy cards were attacking in random directions. The visual effect of the artist drawing on your cards could be more pronounced/indicating that its the artist drawing on your cards somehow, at first i wondered why my cards kept exploding :joy:
I recorded myself playing so you can have some extra feedback:
