Superline Hotami by jcg

Clearly inspired by a select two games, you embark as Yellow Sphere on a mission to remove the Red Guys.
Hopefully Yellow Sphere can clear each level in under 10 seconds.
Comment with screenshots of your clear times :)

My favorite thing about it is the lighting. Not being able to see where the walls are introduces an additional challenge *and* gives the player another reason to move around. Very clever.

Here's my high scores :D

Time manipulating is quite hard to do well because it requires carefully crafted feedback in order to player get a good hang of it. In this game I often do not have any reference points to tell how quickly the time is moving. Sometimes you cannot even see the bullets due to lighting. The music tries to help but it is quite hard to follow it when the tempo is constantly changing. There is a reason why Superhot did not include gameplay music in their game at all. Constantly slowing music is incredibly hard to do well. They relied much more on visual feedback to tell about the speed of time - such as easy to see bullets and traces and enemy body movement.
But I'm mostly nitpicking here. Time control games are very hard to do, especially when it is tied to player movement. One cannot expect someone to get it perfectly right during a jam. What you have here is already a great achievement and it is a big challenge to take on for a jam! Great work!
Really love the mix of those two awesome games :)
As @cooz said, if you keep working on it, you could put out a really great game in the wild! Would love to have more of it
