Slimebonker by Angrybeard

[raw]
made by Angrybeard for Ludum Dare 51 (JAM)

Puh, finally finished. I had a lot of fun this jam but still got alot of features in mind to improve the game.

Instructions: Your goal is to survive as long as possible against the never ending horde of slimes. Earn gold (top right) by bonking them. Every 10 seconds the shop refreshes and offers new items (left Shop) for later use (bottom itembar) such as healthpotions or upgrades for your character (right Shop).

cool game. the upgrade loop works pretty good and it feels nice when you can turn up the speed and not die

Damn this really makes me want to keep coming back to get a better score (which i will definitely be doing). Thank you for letting me bonk slimes >:) Seriously though I really appreciate the mechanics in this game, amazing!

This gets excitingly frantic at higher multiplier levels! Really enjoyed it :)
Final score 10566 (with 227k gold that I couldn't spend fast enough lol)

Nice game, music goes really well with it. Has a bit of an auto-cliker feel, without the auto-click part x)
Maybe add an option to auto-consume potion. Event with high attack speed the slime always attack one time on contact (damn slime).
Fun game overall, good job!

@zerbu, @linus-szokody, @chilleh, @matt-barnfield, @pepnou thank you guys for playing! @pepnou i had alot of ideas in mind to expand on the features of the game. For example temporary upgrades like hitting multiple enemies, having more range or knockback etc. etc.. But time was running out :) thank you for your feedback!

Always nice to slay endless hordes of slimes and getting more and more powerful, had a cool little time with your game. If I had to point something, if for example you were to work more on it, would be to up the juice with effects, graphics, etc I'm pretty sure with this players would be in a good flow state and crave for more

Ah, an inventory management action RPG. It was such a relief to discover I don't have to click to attack. In some ways it kind of reminds me of Diablo 3, except that you can die and it wasn't designed by people who hate video games.

This was an interesting take on the theme. It took me a moment to figure out how to play, I think some sort of additional indicators on some of the actions would have helped show how things impacted your character/enemies. Overall nice work and congrats on the entry.

Fun Game to play, maybe for a game like that you could add some random events !
and maybe increase a little the pixel art with more animation should be perfect !
Indeed the game is really cool , good job on this !

What a great entry! I didn't understand it was an auto battler at first and tried clicking to attack  I think with some more work and balance you could make this into a full release! (I definitely sucked at it and couldn't get past 68 points lol)

413 x 4.8 = 1982. My hand started to cramp in the end. I think it would have been nice if I could have used my keyboard to buy and use items. Super fun. Had the most replays out of me than any other game so far. But it also took me 2 games to realize it was an auto game.

Pretty nice game! It took me a short time to figure out what I should do. I really like the pace when the difficulty is much more higher. Interesting idea!

Hey dude, what a sticky game in the very end. I don't know, maybe that's just me, but I lost kinda sense of time in this simple mechanic  Good job!

Really fun to play and very easy to grasp. Great controls and going between the upgrade system and the shop is really addictive. The ability to speed up the speed of the game is great at letting the player set their own pace and when things really started to pick up I felt like using items and jumping between shops was a battle in itself. I'd love to see you keep working on this as it's already working great and it felt like some of those idle battler games without the bloat of coin collecting and stuff.

Really fun!

Cute and fun game!

The 10 second shop refresh mechanic adds a lot to this kind of idle game! I liked the way everything was balanced, and how the difficulty bumps were not forced but had to be bought as upgrades.

I made it to something like 1500, then felt like increasing the speed and almost instantly died haha.

Great job overall, that was fun to play!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to your game! I like the concept of the game and how the battle just automatically happens, it did sort of turn into me just frantically trying to buy as many health potions as I could haha. But it's quite fun and a really cool idea! Overall, well done!

Love the concept! It reminds me of loop hero and backpack hero. Instead of managing the fighting, your job is to select items. I think there's a lot of potential here!
