Dev Thoughts
Really enjoyed Ludum Dare 51, I thought I wanted this theme, but after reading much of what other people thought, I'm not so sure. Going for the compo submission and finally making it for the first time! Didn't learn too much new with this entry, as I was feeling a bit out of touch with my gamedev. However I am happy with this simple game.
Special thanks to my Abbie, Dad, and Josie for play testing.

I liked the idea of giving players single-user powerups close to, but not necessarily next to, where they are needed. So I did have to plan a little
The double jump mechanic was really clever and the game overall was very entertaining.
Overall a great game. Good job!
Delivering stuff - :white_check_mark:
Holding weird stuff like baby in a jar or banana - :white_check_mark:

Hideo, is that you? This is what Death Stranding would look like if it were made on COMPO .
Art style is very solid and atmosphere is great. Stylish sound effects too. I can always appreciate when someone takes the time to create sound and music for their jam games.
Overall, great work!
It would have been nice to have some WASD movement though, and some jumps were a bit too pixel-perfect ... but other than those two nitpicks, the game is good :)
Other than it nice mood especially in full screen and such a cool jump sound :p
@ruslan-kossak Mostly recorded them and editted in in audacity, but the music was done on beepbox. Highly recommend!
@bukkaketears I love your comment so much, thanks for playing haha
Mild platformer grips need a little more coyote time on the jumps and it would greatly improve the feel.
Well done!
This was a simple entry with an innovative concept. I actually really appreciated how the 10 second timer was not shown on screen. A great example of "maximum feedback" not always being the ideal. The scenario was pretty weird (how did you come up with that???) but very creative. I thought the level designs were actually sound and the difficulty curve was well executed. The graphics weren't stellar but did the job well enough. Sound was probably the weak point here, which got a little bit grating after a while.
Overall, I had fun right up to the finish. Good stuff!
Congrats on your entry!
Love the powerup doublejump animation.
Smal detail i noticed particles on the ground were there isn't anny rain yet (helped me a lot) :)
Only comment is I think the game could be a bit more forgiving, like adding a little bit of coyote time, I think it was a little hard to make some of the jumps, that being said I am pretty bad at platformers
The audio and graphics were great too, and considering how much time you have to spend waiting for the rain to end, it's good that you had a strong idle animation for the character.
Also, I thought it was a really good idea to include a death count and invite players to try again once they finish the game, adding some replayability.
I've enjoyed your previous entries, and you've made a strong transition from Jam -> Compo with this one. Really nice work!
I think the theme was aginst you, waiting for the rain to end falling is a bit frustrating.
But absolutely it deserve more attention!!
another really fun game that suffers from the theme imo, I'd love to see where you go with it if you carry on working on it :)
