It’s kinda dark souls of rhythm games. ~ asfdfdfd

Every ~10 seconds vinyl loads new music and you can only move in the rhytm of given song!

CONTROLS: WASD or ARROWS

You can move only following the music tempo -> one step = one red bar. When red bar is in green field press W-A-S-D or Arrow Keys to move once!! redbar.png

Your goal is to get to the right coast of island! unknown.png

Beware of wandering enemies, colliding with them causes death deaths.gif

Collect coins to get huge amount of points. Don't forget to turn on the browser sound. Music changes every 10 seconds which is indicated by rotating vinyl. During vinyl animation moving is impossible vinyl.png

Pretty hard to keep track of the visual rhythm cues and the map at the same time.

I love the concept!! Sadly the game was so hard I only once managed to survive the 10 seconds to see another track.
The rhythm cue was hard to see while concentrating on the map and viceversa. Also only 2 lifes is brutal!

Gotta say, I love the concept. Will agree with @flanne, eyes got cross-eyed at times, but beside that it's an amazing concept. Just imagining it with a more polished playlist and a rhythm guide closer to the character. -drool-

Really difficult, couldn't make it to the end but had a lot of fun trying! My only suggestion would be to work on how the notes sync up with the song, there were times I could move without staring at the right side but other times it felt just a little out of sync/unforgiving compared to most rhythm games I'm used to. The amount of songs made up for this though, and the challenge of having to look at both screens was interesting.

Really solid entry!

Simple and interesting game! it is a bit difficult to catch the rythm.

nice game! i love rhythm games, so this could be a game i play more often ;)
unfortunately, it's hard to keep an eye on the rhythm-tracker AND the map at the same time.
maybe, placing the rhythm-tracker on the bottom, while the bars move from right to left, would work?

While I am not a musical savant, I had a hard time hitting the beat consistenly without looking at the falling beats on the far right. Unfortunately, that meant that I sometimes ended up just running into a stone over and over again. It was really hard to split my attention successfully. I think hitting the beat is a neat concept, but there probably needs to be a little more grace given to the player, especially early on. Maybe there could be some kind of other penalty instead of forcing a game over after only a couple mistakes.

It was an ok game. The idea was unique but the beat maps were really difficult to follow with. They had irregular rhythms and were placed really awkwardly. The map was also huge, should've been zoomed in a bit more to the player. Great game idea though.

I am absolutely inept at keeping pace in everyday situations. I am an absolute loser in this game :D.Maybe if there was much slower music playing at the beginning? I love puppies with knives. Very cute enemies.

This game is hard!

Couple of ideas how to improve:

- Make the music by yourself (I am not sure, but this game is straight copyright infringiment, right?). I just had to give 0/5 for audio for stealing music.
- Make the music with VERY CLEAR BEAT to follow. Now it was impossible to decide when I am able to move simply by listening to music
- Move the beat visualizer on top of the play are, so that you can see with 1 glance where you are going and when
- Make it so that you do not lose life when you miss a beat
- Gain a hitpoint when hitting a beat correctly
- More hearts, now it is just too difficult.
- Hotkeys for restarting the game. I was dying a alot, and every time i needed to reach for my mouse. I tried pressing for few obvious buttons like R and Space.

But I really like the idea and with good (and legal) music and minor QoL improvements, I could see myself this game. Reminds me of Patapon or Crypt of the NecroDancer <3

oeh wouw that is a really cool idea! I see potential in this game. Only thing is: it is hard to play. You have to look at the top and bottom sortof at the same time. Maybe the screens could be combined so your eyes don't have to wonder off all the time.

Another thing: I don't know how you got the music, is it some streaming service? Or did you put MP3's in your game? Either way: I won't rate the Audio for that reason. Hope you understand.

There is someone else this year that made a music rythm game that, in my opinion, hit the nail on it's head. I would say: take a look and learn as the player can, after a while, recognize the patterns without looking at the screen: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/51/tiny-jukebox

The basic idea is awesome though, you can be very proud coming up with such an original idea!

Cool concept! I was able to get a score of 8800. I liked how the pauses between songs gave time for me to evaluate the map and plan a route. Some song notes seemed to a bit off beat though, which made it harder as it is a rhythm game, but overall nice entry!

Great entry. I am too bad at these games but I really like the idea. Good choice of music and its quite a challenge.

My brain can do it, but doesn't want to. I can easily catch red stripes without looking at them, but because of this, I cannot feel the game, although I can see what is happening on the screen. Either way, it's a good gaming experience. Hard, but cool!

Unfortunately the game doesn't really work right now, but I have seen other functional rythm based cave explorer games, so it is possible. My advice would be to skip the red bars and just focus on the beat.

There's a really cool concept in a crypt of the necrodancer esque game but the song changes regularly. I think a lot of the movement would feel less jarring if there was a smooth animation between squares, currently it feels more like you teleport to the beat which fits an old school Rogue feel but made it really hard to re-orient yourself and follow the beat. Had fun with it though.

I dig it. Have you considered having visualizer be a reticule around the player like in Bullets Per Minute or Metal: Hellsinger?

Very cool concept to match these game mechanics.

Maybe a less zoomed out map would help with seeing the player/level better when focusing on the "rhythm bar".

Might be a good idea not to use copyrighted material. Hearing **your** music would be really nice, escpecially since music is the core of the game! There are many ways to make music nowadays and it is very fun, give it a try!

You should continue exploring this game idea imo.
