Rock n' Dwarves by Kristian Kurktchiev

[raw]
made by Kristian Kurktchiev for Ludum Dare 51 (JAM)

Surrounded by rock, you BECOME the rock. You play as a dwarven blacksmith, running your very own guitar shop. A new customer arrives every 10 seconds, and you have to serve all of them with a dose of rock n roll.

Each customer walks in with a specific order. A material, a body, a neck, and sometimes an enchantment.

To craft a body, combine a mold and a material in the forge. To craft a neck, simply grab it from the display case. To assemble the guitar, place both pieces on the anvil. If you wish to enchant your guitar, select the enchantment in the book and place your guitar on the pedestal.

Forgive the visual bugs, it was our first time doing anything in 3D and none of us know blender :D.

Good idea, and fun overall. Could have used a bit more instruction, it was unclear what everything does and how to do it. If you plan on expanding further, maybe focus on effectively communicating game mechanics to the player. Good job!

Customer service every 10 seconds is definitely a good match for the theme.

The graphics are fine for me, it brings back memories of my childhood.

The music is amazing.

I've read the instructions on how to play several times and I still can't make the guitar. Maybe I would write a more detailed guide or make a short instructional video. For example, there is a lever on the side with which I am unable to do anything at all. All I can do is pick up something and throw it somewhere else. I need the game to communicate more with me (for example: you can't use this now, you need this and that first).

I would also welcome the option to turn off the game or somehow get to the menu.
