Tensec World by Rolly
The Tensies, inhabitants of Tensec World, have a lifespan of 10 seconds. Not much, but they take it very positively! They are so grateful that they actually want to thank their Maker by building an enormous golden statue.
Help the Tensies make the best use of their short lifespan, and the future generations will repeat the actions.
Build new houses, granaries or depots, harvest the resources and build the Maker Statue!

Controls
In the world overview, - Use WASD or the arrow keys to move around. - Use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. - Hover over buildings with you cursor to get some info. You can click on the houses to control its inhabitant. - If you clicked a house, you can cancel the Tensie controlling mode by right-clicking. - When placing a building, cancel the action with a right-click.
In the Tensie control mode, - Use WASD or the arrow keys to move around. - Press and hold space in front of an object to interact with it.
Tips
- Trees, bushes, rocks and gold deposits have a limited amount of resources. It's usually a better idea to have no more than one Tensie to harvest them, so that they last longer.
- You can find idling Tensies when their house has its door shut, light in the windows, and smoke coming from the chimney. Try to keep everyone busy to avoid wasting food.
- Take into account the time to travel to the granary or depot. All the resources that a Tensie holds at the end of his life is lost!
- Granaries are used to store food, while the depots accept wood, stone and gold. Make sure to go to the right place!
Changelog
- Version 1.0 was developped in 48h and is the "Compo" version.
- Version 1.1 includes the following:
- You can change the volume of the music, down by pressing O and up by pressing P.
- While in the menu screen, press Escape to quit the game.
- Fixed and improved some texts to make them clearer.
- Fixed the collider and info position on the depot and the maker statue.
Bugs
The end of the game was kinda rushed, sorry :(
- If the food drops to 0, the game is over and you go back to the menu. That's expected, but not explained in game.
- The goal system is a bit broken. When you see a goal in the textbox, you have to click the button to close it, then make the goal. When it's done, the textbox will appear and the story will continue.

Something that would have been cool, would be the ability to construct buildings that you don't start off with (e.g. a goldmine to collect a gold resource). I think that would give more of a sense of 'developing' the tensie civilisation.
All in all, I think this is a great entry :) great job!
Only issue I had was I wish you didn't have to wait a whole loop to command the next generation. It would be simpler to just click on a tree, select how many you want to take, and then move them to whichever deposit you want to go to. It sometimes feels like forever to have to individually select each person... especially when there's a lot of houses and the resources dry out too fast. Perhaps making the resources from one place larger and the cost of things more expensive to incentive speeding up the process.
Anyways great game! Happy jamming!
Good work!
I had a few good laughs at the Tensies remarks, and the final "This is how I imagine you" killed me.
Also love the little details (progressing names and "changing faces" of the characters talking to you) that underline the shortness of lives of the Tensies. I see you put a lot of effort into this, and it shows .)
Great game you made there! I could definitely play some more of this. Very original .) Well done!
I think the music was a *bit* repetitive. I understand that's the nature of a ten second music loop though. I also started using the whistle at the end as an audio cue, since I had just barely enough time to drop things off at the depot after it started.
I recorded myself playing for ***maximum feedbackage***:

Did the game/description ever explain that you can only have some 3 people running around at once? I didn't realise until they were suddenly missing and I wasn't getting any food and lost ☹️
It was funny that the generations passed every ten seconds even in the speech boxes. The music was nice. Cosy game! Controls were nice and intuitive, I guess panning the view by moving the mouse to the edges would've been nice too. Played for a while. Well done!!
My assumption is that the bush(es) was emptied when you assigned a task to a 4th Tensie, and stopped doing it - but it's only a coincidence!
