Verdant World But Not by Jane Wei

[raw]
made by Jane Wei for Ludum Dare 50 (JAM)

The world is heating up into oblivion, the pollution is poisoning the air and landfills overflowing. How long can you DELAY THE INEVITABLE before the planet becomes completely uninhabitable?

AIM OF GAME

  1. You are given a stack of tiles which you can use to replace different tiles on the world (Windmills replace Coal Factories, Garbage Collection replace Garbage Pile etc)

  2. Balance three key factors which determine the state of the climate Overall Tree Count Pollution Waste Generation

  3. Once the climate change threshold reaches a certain level the game is over

  4. Keep the planet alive for as long as you can!

Cool concept! And the graphics are very cute! I played it for a while, and it was quite fun.
I stopped before losing though, because the cursors were so hard to use, at least for me (the cross and pointer are not centered on the mouse position), and I think the tile limits are not implemented? so the game was probably way easier than intended.
I hope you had a good jam experience, and I'd be totally in to play this game again if you reworked on it

Really nice look and feel and good music too! The temperature rise is a bit too fast, and the tile placement exclusion is not immediately obvious IMHO (having a different colour for tile you could replace on the field and tile you can't would have been great) Anyway great use of the theme and I agree with the previous poster, it's a good base for a more complete game.
