Great game!!

I really loved the art style, the game looks amazing. It's a bit hard to decipher what each building does. I couldn't figure out what the last one do.

The theme fits really well and it feels good to play. It would've been cool to have some sort of timer and a leaderboard to make people compete. I think you can eexpand in the ammount of building types and expand it further.

Amazing job!

Awesome idea! Very unique concept and all the mechanics seemed to work very well. The tutorial was bit confusing, for example, I got the monolith tutorial only after placing my first monolith (when I had no idea what it did). I'm also still unsure what the final (500 cost) tower did. Overall, very cool game, nice job!

I played for quite a while and really enjoyed it! Would love to have a score to measure progress. Also, defending the last few pieces is a little anti-climatic compared to the super tense period of defending a larger area.

It was pretty interesting and I can see where this is headed. The vision was pretty good. Would love to see this finished.

Incredible game! I liked it a lot and I found it very funny xD, I think I only found a bug when the character did not fall for a long time into the void. The music and effects are great, the art is beautiful, I think you could use the bar at the bottom as a "mana" counter, at least in my resolution you couldn't see the counter correctly, so I didn't know how much mana had. And also making the bottom of the blocks smaller and not being so long would make it look much better, just as observations! Excellent work! Congratulations!!

@emaigualmc2-art Thanks for feedback! Can you be more specific about how you got this bug? Just survive for a really long time?
Bar at the bottom is used for charging a "win" by placing a beacons - the last building.

Really liked the idea here! The game gives you an interesting set of tools to deal with the inevitable, and I found that the 3x3 shield was really effective. The artwork is incredible too and overall this is an excellent entry, great job!

very charming game^. I think the start and the end of the game are a little to important. At the start you have to be very quick to grasp the concept of protecting extractors. And at the end i could cheese the game for a very long time (indefenetly?) because i got some free mana every couple of seconds to place a magic tile in front of me.
But the art and the "cleanness" of the game are very impressive!

Really enjoyed this! It's quite quickly intuitive as to what you have to do. Art is fantastic. I ended wanting to see more levels and zones for our wizard chum

@angrybeard thanks for the feedback! It's true, you can survive infinitly due of how magic tiles work now. We making some balance chages and fixes for the post-jam versions.

@webox @kyle-welfare Thanks for your feedback! The last building for 500 mana charge the bar below and allow you to escape from the island, like some kind of win there.

Strong magical mood, graphics are very nice. The concept really fits the theme and works well. Good job !

PS : I don't know if you are aware of this, but the thing the count the most to get ratings from others is *Karma from feedback given*, which is the likes you get on your comments of other games. I'm telling you this cause it appears you are rating games without commenting (or at least getting karma for it), which won't do much to promote your own game.

Thanks for your submission! I really enjoyed that you managed to achieve a complete working core loop! There was plenty on the page to explain, so I thought I might play the game without reading to not get any spoilers. It turned out it was quite hard to grasp what the game was trying to convey. After playing for some time I understood that I needed to grab the mana and place the buildings. The art is amazing and for some reason reminds me of Starcraft Protoss.

Maybe I didn't wait for having enough mana for the last building, but I didn't feel like I could really keep up with the floors. I feel like you achieved almost the perfect mechanic for the theme and if there was a way to keep up with the floors forever, with a very delicate balance from playing, it'd be really satisfying.

@debone thanks for such detailed feedback! Yes, the game has an issues with balance for now, we will make a postjam version with some improvements soon. Also, we chaged the tutorial, it's would be more clear and simple.

Excellent, one of my favorites yet. Love the core mechanic, reminds me of the board game "Forbidden Island". The graphics are fantastic, the sound is good, and the concept is well-executed. A really nice curve of basically fun macro work at the beginning leading into a stressful frantic ending scrambling from place to place trying to protect your last remaining tiles until the portal activates. I beat it on the second try, just barely, so the difficulty curve seems pretty good. Love it!

Fantastic game you guys! The level of polish you got done in 3 days is crazy, very impressive. I love the art style. This was a pretty unique take on the theme. Great idea! I haven't seen any other entries like this yet.

really nice one! at first i thought i was smart by surviving on one tile, and then placing a new one just before it collapsed, stacking up mana to make the other buildings. but that was definitely a boring strategy!

fun concept!

This game induces stress. The good kind. The I am playing a game that is trying to get me stressed as its core mechanic stress. And it succeeds in that masterfully. The pixel art was really amazing, I really loved the color schemes for the magic elements which are all this nice combo of black and purple. The only thing really lacking is content, you only have four types of towers and you can spend a lot of time just waiting. So if there were more types of tower or more objectives to clear, I could see this as a really nice little game.

I really enjoyed this. It was a great interpretation of the theme. You really were delaying the inevitable. Sadly, I can't give you five stars, because you have floating islands and that is strictly forbidden in ldjam.

JK Loved it. Want more. Great job

Great game.
At the start I didn't know what to do but then I figured it out.
After playing the game I've also read the game page and then it became clear.
I may should've done it beforehand
