I really love rhythm games so I did enjoy your game.
The artwork ist stunning and I really dig the character styles.
If you want to be picky - you could argue that putting the strings on the keyboard (FGHJK) instead of the numbers (1 to 0) would have been easier to play. At least for me it would have been easier to play.
But overall a really fun game that i enjoyed !

I love rhythm games so much, so when I saw your game I got really excited. And boy, did it deliver!
Love the setting, love the music, love the challenge!
The only thing that didn't sit well with me is 3D art. It's not bad, but it's a little bit muddy compared to the intro animation and the rest of UI.
A fantastic entry, definitely one of my favorites!
After a while I started receiving only cat scene/quest

@dirkinz I was actually just fixing some stuff up for a WebGL port and after seeing this I added a full-screen button now updated in the new Windows build!
It's a bit boring to Delay the inevitable in this, but the theme is perfect! And it's fun as a rhythm game. I love it!
I'm waiting for you to make a full version! Congratulation with grate game
Also: All Star :joy:
And the swamp song is just genius!!! x3
needs more SHREK!
Edit: Listening to the soundtrack. OH MY GOD, what an absolute jam "Battle against the sun" is. Seriously, remarkable work on the music. Good lord, this is bound to win in Audio.
Nice entry 😻
Even better, two cats!!
I love it! The songs could be longer through, so the Rhythm Game gameplay is interrupted less often. But short songs also means more opportunities to play a song for the cat. I would also have liked harder songs.
Did I mention that I love cats?
Any chance of a post-jam version (you might even replicate the success of Friday Night Funkin')?
The only complaint I have is that I wanted to play music for a longer duration, and spend less time in the transitions. The 15 second snippets were just enough to get me into a groove, and then done. Obviously getting this many different tracks into the game means they need to be very short, but this is a good problem to have, because your development path forward is very obvious. Just map out longer chunks of the song!
I've got nothing but good things to say about this. You all did an incredible job. The hit timer was definitely generous, which I appreciate for a jam game--gave me opportunity to experience all the fantastic music.
My only request is MORE. I'd like longer songs to play. Maybe some Guitar Hero classics? Hah!
Good job!
I have a question: Is that final score counting the results for across all the players?
Anyway amazing entry with great art, music and an excellent idea for the theme! Keep up the good work!
But maybe it was worth making 4 strings to put 4 fingers? Or 5 but with keys , for example: ASDF and SPACE ?
I'm the sound engineer for our games and this is something I'd love to do but dread having to explain certain things that would take up too much of our time. The way it looks, sounds, the game's Quest-like structure with the option to choose night and day.. just WOW! I am really impressed with this entry.
It did bother me a little that each song only lasted for around 2 phrases and it didn't even always end of a satisfying end! I would have loved more of a challenge and maybe the option to re-bind my keys.
Thank you for your work, guys!
Thanks for having the 6-0 keys as well, it made the game much more enjoyable than trying to play with just 1-5.
I very much enjoyed the Finnish folklore setting. It is a huge plus in my book when someone incorporates architecture, clothing, instruments, music, lore, or customs from their country or region in their game. It just feels fresh, unique, or simply different, and you always learn a thing or two. Like I learnt what a [Kantele](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kantele) is.
The visuals are very cute, the hooded characters looked lovely and the two main bards were quite distinct and fit to their sun/moon domain respectively. It is a shame you can't zoom in when you are in the village view or don't really have time to enjoy the view because the sun/moon are going down. I guess the theme had to have an impact somewhere.
There was a good variety of melodies to play, although it would be super nice to have a chance to choose the songs you want to play. But perhaps otherwise I wouldn't leave the swamp. Also, I was hoping for Ievan Polkka :) Fingers crossed it will arrive in the next DLC!
Great game overall. Congratulations and I hope to see you next time :notes: :guitar: :flag_fi:
For people looking for a quite different experience, I recommend holding your keyboard like this while playing.

The art (in the intro, the village, the music scenes, the UI) is very very good, polished and gives a great vibe. The music and sounds are very cool. I especially loved the feedback during gameplay, I know it's not that easy to make a comfortable rhythm game and you nailed it.
I was a bit disappointed the tracks were so short, I understand it goes better with the narrative structure of the game and it might also be due to jam constraints, but still the game feel was so good I would have loved longer songs!
Great job all around, you girls and guys can be very proud of what you made ✨
That intro has an insane Zelda vibe. It's so moody, so pretty, the music, the artwork..! It absolutely blew me away!
But the rest of the game is really good as well! I believe it's quite hard to make a well adjusted, responsive rhythm game in a jam, especially because of the content you have to make, and you did a great job at that! I'd say the day side feels a bit more polished and enjoyable music-wise, but it's also much harder than the night side.
I love that you can see the cumulative delay durations for each side at the end of the game. I know it's just a collective scoreboard, but it's still a neat touch. It's all so polished. And it's rather fresh as well! I enjoyed the cheekiness of the dialogues. The gameplay loop is sweet, and does just what it set out to do. Talk to a few inhabitants then perform the ritual, rince and repeat. I think talking to inhabitants and failing makes the next ritual harder, which adds to the "delay the inevitable" idea.
Awesome work everyone, I had a blast! Thank you for making it and congratulations for the well deserved super high ranks
