Thats a nice game you created!
I really love rhythm games so I did enjoy your game.
The artwork ist stunning and I really dig the character styles.

If you want to be picky - you could argue that putting the strings on the keyboard (FGHJK) instead of the numbers (1 to 0) would have been easier to play. At least for me it would have been easier to play.

But overall a really fun game that i enjoyed !

What an amazing game!

I love rhythm games so much, so when I saw your game I got really excited. And boy, did it deliver!

Love the setting, love the music, love the challenge!

The only thing that didn't sit well with me is 3D art. It's not bad, but it's a little bit muddy compared to the intro animation and the rest of UI.

A fantastic entry, definitely one of my favorites!

Really great game. I was already blown away, and then you had a whole second faction with new music and assets! Incredible. I would love the option to disable full screen as I had a couple issues with the display. See the white box in the screenshot.

@dirkinz I was actually just fixing some stuff up for a WebGL port and after seeing this I added a full-screen button now updated in the new Windows build!

It's so Awesome! Love your music and graphics!
It's a bit boring to Delay the inevitable in this, but the theme is perfect! And it's fun as a rhythm game. I love it!
I'm waiting for you to make a full version! Congratulation with grate game

Really lovely art style. I enjoyed this a lot although it started to get a little repetitive. Amazing work for one weekend though. I could see it being expanded into a really fun ongoing adventure.

Really excellent job! It's impressive what you managed to accomplish in such a short time, it feels like an early access game. The models are nice, and the animations have character. I especially liked the art and music in the introduction.

Wow the music is a bop! (the cat one is my favorite. Either that, or the more energetic version. what a jam) The artwork is crazy good, and I LOVE how you get to pick which team to be on. (#TeamNight) The 3D models are so good, the music is so good, the gameplay is tight. Ahh man, what a game. Seriously, hats off. great work all around. Very delightful, and I'm showing my friends.

Edit: Listening to the soundtrack. OH MY GOD, what an absolute jam "Battle against the sun" is. Seriously, remarkable work on the music. Good lord, this is bound to win in Audio.

Yeah a cat!

Even better, two cats!!

I love it! The songs could be longer through, so the Rhythm Game gameplay is interrupted less often. But short songs also means more opportunities to play a song for the cat. I would also have liked harder songs.

Did I mention that I love cats?

With all the content, great music and polished art this game has, I can hardly believe it was made within 72 hours (even bij a 7-man team). Outstanding work!

Any chance of a post-jam version (you might even replicate the success of Friday Night Funkin')?

almost full marks :) the game is simple to understand, kind of an fnf gameplay, and also, the graphics are so great! i love the choice of light and night, and the way you made the characters is awesome. really great entry, i would play it much more if i wasn't pressed for time. again, great work, you should feel proud of yourself (great music btw) also the funky mood was really funny but a great choice for theme.

Absolutely amazing job here team! I love rhythm games and this was so much better than I thought a jam game could do in that genre.

The only complaint I have is that I wanted to play music for a longer duration, and spend less time in the transitions. The 15 second snippets were just enough to get me into a groove, and then done. Obviously getting this many different tracks into the game means they need to be very short, but this is a good problem to have, because your development path forward is very obvious. Just map out longer chunks of the song!

Holy cow what a game! The character models and animations, the real strings, the cat song!!!

I've got nothing but good things to say about this. You all did an incredible job. The hit timer was definitely generous, which I appreciate for a jam game--gave me opportunity to experience all the fantastic music.

My only request is MORE. I'd like longer songs to play. Maybe some Guitar Hero classics? Hah!

Without a doubt the best thing was being able to help the cat to get down from the tree with my magical music xD. Amazing work! With my girlfriend we were playing for a long time and competing with each other who made the best score (she is a musician, she won jajaja!). Great job! We really liked this game, it's one of the best I've played in this Jam, I'd love it if you could continue polishing and working on it, Great entry! Congratulations!

WOW what an entry. That was fantastic and definitely winner material right there. Very cohesive art with adorable animations. Great music and fantastic audio work. The rhythm game was actually very fun and engaging and brought me back to the guitar hero times. It was also very funny, and charming. Super well polished and on top of all that, it also had another side to play as too! Both night and day. I had a good time and enjoyed seeing the two competing cults basically vibe.

Good job!

Fantastic! I tried at first in the browser with full screen, and there was such a huge input delay, it wasn't really playable. I'm glad I refreshed and gave it another go in framed mode. It's visually beautiful. It's unique, fun. As an old fan of StepMania and now a Beat Saber player, I really appreciate a rhythm game! I would have liked for the songs to be longer, but of course, it's just a weekend Jam so what can you expect? I recognized the "swamp song." And I'll bet the last of my Gysahl Greens the cat one was inspired by the Chocobo Theme. Finally, of course, the music and sound was beautiful.

I liked the concept of using short rhythm minigames, so we have the fun of playing more of them on a single run. The "swamp song" was a funny surprise. I've played just the Sun side for now, will check the Moon side later.

I have a question: Is that final score counting the results for across all the players?

Great game! I wish I would be good at rhythm games. Also I didn't quite like the keybindings. I don't know how to place my hand on 1-5. I used 1-4 with my left hand and 5 with my right hand but that confused me a lot

Anyway amazing entry with great art, music and an excellent idea for the theme! Keep up the good work!

But maybe it was worth making 4 strings to put 4 fingers? Or 5 but with keys , for example: ASDF and SPACE ?

Delayed by 894 days! Wish there was a scoreboard :D
I'm the sound engineer for our games and this is something I'd love to do but dread having to explain certain things that would take up too much of our time. The way it looks, sounds, the game's Quest-like structure with the option to choose night and day.. just WOW! I am really impressed with this entry.

It did bother me a little that each song only lasted for around 2 phrases and it didn't even always end of a satisfying end! I would have loved more of a challenge and maybe the option to re-bind my keys.
Thank you for your work, guys!

fantastic entry!! it makes me proud to see games where audio is just as integral to the gameplay as everything else. my only minor suggestions would be it would be cool to have a sandbox mode or the ability to "warm up" or retry after you fail events. the keyboard mappings are doable but interesting none the less, but I understand theres not really a way to make a keyboard an instrument intuitively

Fantastic game, really polished and a great time to play! Impressive how much content in terms of being able to play all the tracks on both sides and hearing the evolution of tracks as you progress. Game felt great to play with just the right pacing and difficulty curve. Would've loved to have a bar indicator to help with timing like with what I'm familiar with in other rhythm games but not a point that would detract from me playing the game. Favourite track was the Swamp special of course!

Hello! I played your submission on my [HaaYaargh](https://www.twitch.tv/haayaargh) stream the other day.

I very much enjoyed the Finnish folklore setting. It is a huge plus in my book when someone incorporates architecture, clothing, instruments, music, lore, or customs from their country or region in their game. It just feels fresh, unique, or simply different, and you always learn a thing or two. Like I learnt what a [Kantele](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kantele) is.

The visuals are very cute, the hooded characters looked lovely and the two main bards were quite distinct and fit to their sun/moon domain respectively. It is a shame you can't zoom in when you are in the village view or don't really have time to enjoy the view because the sun/moon are going down. I guess the theme had to have an impact somewhere.

There was a good variety of melodies to play, although it would be super nice to have a chance to choose the songs you want to play. But perhaps otherwise I wouldn't leave the swamp. Also, I was hoping for Ievan Polkka :) Fingers crossed it will arrive in the next DLC!

Great game overall. Congratulations and I hope to see you next time :notes: :guitar: :flag_fi:

For people looking for a quite different experience, I recommend holding your keyboard like this while playing.

@haayaargh Thanks for the stream, it was great! Oh yea I forgot to mention I did in fact implement remappable binds as a post-jam feature (due to itch.io supporting only one web build it's in the main one, but there's a notice not to use them before reviewing for the original experience :D). So now you can really play with the Frets on Fire F keys for the style points :D

Incredible jam game!

The art (in the intro, the village, the music scenes, the UI) is very very good, polished and gives a great vibe. The music and sounds are very cool. I especially loved the feedback during gameplay, I know it's not that easy to make a comfortable rhythm game and you nailed it.

I was a bit disappointed the tracks were so short, I understand it goes better with the narrative structure of the game and it might also be due to jam constraints, but still the game feel was so good I would have loved longer songs!

Great job all around, you girls and guys can be very proud of what you made ✨

28. Apr 2022 · 02:01 UTC
Wow, you nailed it!

That intro has an insane Zelda vibe. It's so moody, so pretty, the music, the artwork..! It absolutely blew me away!

But the rest of the game is really good as well! I believe it's quite hard to make a well adjusted, responsive rhythm game in a jam, especially because of the content you have to make, and you did a great job at that! I'd say the day side feels a bit more polished and enjoyable music-wise, but it's also much harder than the night side.

I love that you can see the cumulative delay durations for each side at the end of the game. I know it's just a collective scoreboard, but it's still a neat touch. It's all so polished. And it's rather fresh as well! I enjoyed the cheekiness of the dialogues. The gameplay loop is sweet, and does just what it set out to do. Talk to a few inhabitants then perform the ritual, rince and repeat. I think talking to inhabitants and failing makes the next ritual harder, which adds to the "delay the inevitable" idea.

Awesome work everyone, I had a blast! Thank you for making it and congratulations for the well deserved super high ranks
