Hey this was a great entry. Appreciated the wonderful art and the upgrade powerup to keep the game interesting. And the hit bar and knockback features were very well done! I liked the text at the bottom of the screen too. Very funny. Keep up the good work!

Great entry! I liked the concept of defending a small planet. I think the controls could use a bit of fine tuning, but other than that I had fun!

Great game, like the mood the difficulty curve and the jokes. One thing that maybe it's on me but, if you can make the enemies more visible it will be great. I like your game a lot.

Fantastic game, i almost beat it at 96 lifes saved! It gets harder to control the ships so fast in the last moments of the game, i would add mouse pointing for the ship to be more precise on the combat.
However, this is a very good entry, and the art & music is 10/10
Great job! :v:

The controls were a bit tough - I felt enemies alwways moved better no matter how I tried. But oldschool vibe (visuals, text and sound) was cool!:)

I don't have a lot to critique, other than that the controls need to be a bit more tighter. They're comfortable, but the response from button to fire is pretty slow, and navigating is a bit confusing at times. It took me up to the third try to actually get the hang of moving the ship around.

The graphics are decent, and the music's pretty great, having a calm but serious e-piano tune carry the game. But the one strong quality this game has is its deadpan humor, especially with the implied awareness from Control of the inevitability of the planet's fate. Good job!

Controls are a bit hard, but overall a solid game with good sense of progression

The upgrades were nicely spaced out - I got an opportunity to try all of time. The whole game had a good difficulty, I last pretty long on my first try! Would be cool to have "bots" or NPCs that you could hire to stand and guard an area.

Game was a way too easy, got 100/100 on my first try. I didn't think I was delaying the inevitable. I felt like I was obliterating flies. But the graphics are pretty cute and I had a fun time playing it! Also music is great!

Never been a fan of this sort of control scheme but I really enjoyed the dialogue and art style and the game was solid overall!

I think the physics could should be more floaty (the spaceship steers more like a tank) and there isn't any reason not to hold Space/A all of the time. I like that it is such a short, simple and fun game, perfect length for a jam. Also the music is a bop.

Nicely implemented game that didn't overstay its welcome! A bit easy as others have said, but I enjoyed it.

Nice solid entry. For me it was nice to have gamepad support for controlling the ship.
This game was a bit easy.

The controls feel a bit weird, but despite that I think your game idea is really great ! Also loved the art and sounds, the atmosphere they create is really nice.
Great entry !

Like the comment above, the controls were weird, though I didn't try it with a controller. Liked the comments and the frequent upgrades to the ship!

I love the background music and the fact that I can just hold space to repeatedly fire. The controls are close to being solid. I wonder if a strafe mechanic with the aiming the mouse toward where you want to fire would work better?

Great game design! Love the differences in enemies and that you can collect back people. Both music and art design are awesome. As others pointed out, more upgrades! People love upgrades :P

I like how your spaceship gets upgrades! I think I saved all 100 people? (I think that was what the 100/100 indicated) I liked the art, and the controller support was nice too! Great work all around.

At first the game didn't accept my input for some reason but after pausing and unpausing a few times it somehow started working. Once it worked, the game was pretty cool though. Nothing groundbreaking but solidly implemented mechanics and nice graphics and audio. The upgrades are cool. Good job!

@junber That input bug sounds weird.
Did you have a controller plugged in by chance?

@reispfannenfresser No, I didn't. But I just tried this again and the keyboard input was immediately detected. So, idk, probably nothing to worry about, software is just weird sometimes.
