A Tiny Cube World by Mulokun

[raw]
made by Mulokun for Ludum Dare 50 (COMPO)

My entry to the LD50. An experiemental game.

My interpretation of the theme was to let the game begs you to not quit it.

I tried to implement various gameplay elements. (Use WASD during movement phase)

Hope you will enjoy it.

Thank you :)

Could be a bug or a mysteriously short game...
But after about 10 interactions the game closes (could be intended by the 'story', but not sure).

Hahaha, awesome idea, very meta! I almost missed most of it because I though escape was the only useful button, and if you smash it, the game do exit after a few dialog. Showing the code is also a cool idea, I felt like a movie hacker, smashing the keyboard to make things happen. You could probably put more joke/story in the code, or ask player to choose between several version of the code to influence the story. Anyway, very funny game, keep up the good work!

Really like this one! It take me a while before "giving up" and click on the cross buton, perfect surprise! A little bit short but 48h that's short too! The tone is cool and i love what you've done visually with just cubes and colors! The animal crossing like speech is so cool too! Well done 😀

Really creative concept. I imagine creating content for this would need more time, but I'd really enjoy playing a fully fleshed out game like this - full of mini-games like these and interactions with the game, maybe even some more fourth wall breaking. Graphically it's pleasing, but the audio definitely needs some work - the dialogue sounds were kind of annoying, not gonna lie. But overall, very enjoyable and surprising experience!

Really clever! I didn't read your description here, so at first I thought the game was broken. After a few minutes of hitting every key on my keyboard I decided to quit the game and then it kicked in! That was a really neat trick. I think a little bit of music after the first time you try to quit the game could be cool. It would increase the contrast between the opening phase, when the game is completely static, and the next phases when it comes alive and talks to the player. Great entry!

Quite short but fun! I really like the very unique visual style and thought the programming bits were a nice touch. As someone said earlier, I think this could be a really nice entry if it was expanded to have just a little more story- look at something like https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/click-to-continue for inspiration. I You'll have a pretty cool little game on your hands if you decided to polish it after the jam is over :D

That was fun! I felt like an action move hero when is trying to hack a computer by smashing keys on a keyboard XD Great job!
