Gameplay is good but you could add some harder puzzles.
Some minor notes; in some maps it was hard for me to distinguish which platforms were below me and which one above me. I think the perspective and simple art creates the illusion that some of the platforms are further away than they actually are. This combined with quite tight jump arcs makes some of the platforming sections a bit frustrating.
The game could use a bit harder puzzles but for a jam environment this is just fine in my opinion!
I think in terms of polish, its almost there, buts its missing a couple of features to really take it to the next level:
- Better communication to the player about which platforms are how far away (can be hard to tell if you're going to make a jump or not, or which islands are jumpable and their heights and stuff). I think some better lighting / shadows / camera angles could help with this!
- Sound effects for the player
- More variety in terms of soundtrack (its pretty repetitive)
- Theme is pretty much irrelevant here (I see you remade your first game, which is cool, but it doesn't really fit the theme at all :)
This is a really solid game though dude! Congrats on making a very finished product with multiple levels :) the block animations are by far my favorite part.
I spend an hour or two after the theme was announced, a full nights' sleep on it and a bit of time in the morning and just couldn't come up with any game-play that I wanted to make that really fit it well, and since theme was optional, I just opted out. Did feel a bit weird doing that... but I was at a point of 'opt out of theme' or "don't do the jam"... so I picked opt out.
Yeah, I totally get it. I (and many others) struggled a lot with this theme. I think it was the most difficult one I have participated in so far.
I hope one day there is an actual theme for redoing an old project, because it sounds like a bunch of fun to do!
Cheers dude
I've player your game and really enjoeyed it.
The Scene Trasnsiton is really smoth. There are a few Levels
and Graphics at self are just great.
You did a great Job👍

With best regards
Max
If you mean WASD on the keyboard, I did arrows over WASD because there are keyboard layouts that WASD does not work on (a fairly standard choice when making games for an international audience - at least unless you setup rebinding).
If you mean the controller jump/interact layout, there isn't a standard (different games place them in different spots).
If you mean something else, some details would be helpful.
My only nitpick is a slight input lag (about 100-150 ms), enough to make me fall off once, despite a very smooth visual framerate. I played on the Linux version.
I don't think I suggested any themes.
* Took me a while to figure out the keys
* Nice graphics!
* It is kind of hard to tell where to go or how far things are. Maybe you could tweak the level design a bit to work with the limitations
* Add some interesting puzzles: I think there is potential to take the simple "move gem from here to here" idea and make some neat puzzles with just that, but the level design was a bit too simple (one of the levels I liked, where you had to move a placed gem).ö
* The part with the moving boxes didn't feel very fitting with the peaceful atmosphere
Enjoyed playing it on stream ! :)
Good work!
I actually preferred the puzzles in your first version better but the new version is a lot nicer to look at and play.
Overall solid, albeit not theme fitting.
Doing a remake is a pretty neat idea. That's a bit tempting for myself since my early projects were.....not so polished :)
Good job :)
