Sounds like a good game, but it just sent me to a github. Are we supposed to compile it and play it?

@beebster-games sorry about that. You should try it now :)

Great concept, I loved the graphics and audio. There were a few typos but I didn't punish your score for that as I assume English is not your first language. I think having only one tree makes the game a bit easy, maybe if it was a forest of trees being burned down by the ghosts and you had to manage 100 trees instead of 1 then it could definitely be a very stressful/strategic game. Great entry! Good Job

Beautiful game, the artstyle and background really set the mood. I played to the point that the background music stopped playing, I'd recommend having that on a loop. The game was a bit on the easy side, I never felt especially pressured once I'd gotten into a groove of keeping the meters full. I'd recommend the ghosts start taking more hits to kill later on in addition to the tree needing more attention. Great work overall!

Sorry dude, it isn't working for me. I installed via the itch.io app, and it just said this:

Audio/video and mood is very good, but the gameplay is a bit too simplistic to be fun.

@his-games you have to download .rar archive, unpack it, and run the binary

A great scope/polish balance :D feels very polished, has great visuals and sound. I wish the difficulty would increase with time though. It feels like I can go forever, and I had to wait for the ghost to see the fire effect. But I liked it overall!

Quick tip: don't use rar, Itch app doesn't seem to like it :D use zip instead :)

Beautiful artstyle, and nice backstory.
After playing a couple of rounds, I got the hang of it, to the point were I felt I could probably gone on for as long as I wanted. The few times I died was because of lack of water and/or fertilizer, but as I said, once I got the hang of it, it was fairly easy to maintain.
I never had a ghost set the tree on fire (Although I allowed it to happen, when I decided to quit, as I wanted to see how it worked).
Although the gameplay was simple, it captured me long enough to try and get 'good enough' at it.
All in all I think this was a quite good submissions - Well done.

Thanks for sharing your game :-)

It makes my GPU 100%, but otherwise the game looks pretty good. Fancy pixelart graphics and music works together and it's impressive \o/

Very pretty game! Really loved the aesthetics, except maybe for the particle effects which were not quite as good as the rest...

Also, I played for a while, but the game didn't appear to get harder... Is that normal? Maybe making the ghosts appear more and more frequently would make the death of the tree truly inevitable.

Incredible work for an engineless game, and I really appreciate the repo link! I'm going to have to read through that later :heart_exclamation:

Love the graphics, especially the mouse-aware parallax effect. The music fits the mood well. Great job on a well-scoped game on point with the theme.

Fun game, great atmosphere! Difficulty curve feels a little slow and some hotkeys for swapping the tools would be great. Otherwise the sound and graphics and gameplay over all are very good!

Congratulations for the game, I had difficulties with the commands not giving the player feedback whether or not he was adjusting some actions, if I click on the maximize box, the mouse control is misaligned, the idea of the game is very good, but I believe that if making it more dynamic can become more fun, I hope I helped, a big hug.

Great game! The graphics are outstanding and the controls are easy to pickup. A view thoughts:

- The text was a bit hard to read in the beginning because the "T" has a unique stile, which I like btw! I just needed to get used to it
- I did not really know what the colored bars at the top where about and if it is good or bad that they depleted. I was expecting the game to tell me
- The story is very sad and makes you even more motivated to keep the tree, and thus a bit of dad, alive, well done!
- The game could have been packed with a regular ZIP, instead of RAR. Not everyone can afford WinRAR

Good gameplay and art. Maybe put some Text under the colored bar to indicate what they are. but other than that great submission.

Awesome game! Really love that parallax and art.
As some features to add:
- Tree would grow up
- Hotkeys for instruments (for example Z - sword, X - fire extinguisher)
- Аfter you lost, would like to see time I survived

And you should definitely add fullscreen mode

Interesting game. Huge fan of parallax effect. I also like the fact that you used Rust and OpenGL. Soundtrack is very fitting. Gameplay became a little bit repetitive after a while.

I noticed lots of single textures while going through the game data. Switching textures in OpenGL can be quite expensive. That's why people usually pack all of their sprites in one huge texture and select subtextures from them. Probably doesn't matter for this case but maybe something to consider for future projects

Anyway still a good entry with a nice idea. Keep it up!

First of all let me say that the art is absolutely gorgeous.

However I seem to lose very fast (which is, perhaps, skill-related).
A little bit of rebalancing could do wonders, along with more "stages" - perhaps, the tree grows, and with its growth the watering/fertilizing requitements and the activity of the ghosts changes, making you have to adjust...
Well this is all idle musing, for 3 days this is definitely a solid game with beginning, end, and even a menu.

Good luck with your further creations!

Intresting perspective for the gameplay. I like being able to move the camera around with the mouse while managing the tree. Could've done with a timer or something for me to benchmark my progress but it kept me entertained for a while especially as the difficulty ramped up. After the credits and playing the game again it started stuttering really hard and the sounds started going crazy (maybe a memory leak?). Overall though nice work!
