Graphics and sounds are very good. I found it a bit repetitive and also the zombie's AI should be a bit better...
Also, I don't really like the fact that when you shoot the player stops moving. For everything else, you did a great job!

I think you nailed the mood very well personally!! The gameplay is not the best but there is a big heavy mood going on, love it! (reminds me of the famous half-life 1 mod they remains)

AraTheDev already said most things I can say, but making a top-down game look good is really hard, Great work

I would love to shoot as I move as well lol, it got really really hard, Love the art and music though, sets the perfect mode for the game. Its a bit too hard though, the fit with the theme is too loose I feel, but overall its a pretty good game.

pretty cool overall. It felt surprisingly long, which is a nice change of pace from the other games in the jam, but it also felt a bit samey in general. One or two more enemy types would've made it much more enjoyable all the way through, but as it is right now I started enjoying it less by the 4th cultist

The art and audio really create a great mood! I like the combination of using a gun and magic, but I think the player should be able to move while shooting. The ending was a bit anticlimactic but everything is pretty polished! Good work!

It's a really good game, that got me hooked until the end! The difficulty ramp up nicely along with your power, it's extremely satisfying to zap an entire crowd of zombies in an instant. The powers are plenty and all of them are interesting (even though freeze and push seem to be a bit redondant, but I might have missed something.) The characters look really nice, and I can see the care that was put into their animations, so it's a bit of a pity that the environment and the UI are not in par (the health and mana bars are triggering me so bad as they are the only elements that are not pixel art, I guess you ran out of time.)
It's too bad you opted out of humour rating, I would have given you a good one. There is basically only one joke in your game, told over and over, but it made me laugh every time!

Little bit redundant, loved fireball but only got the zap skill just before the last cultist. Would be nice to have more time with powerfull kills. Maybe one day James will learn how to shoot during moving.
Awesome mood, feels like a Arkham Horror Action game and offline version looks way better with the lighting. Graphics and sound fit very nicely together!

This almost feels like a full feature game. Impressive amount of content for the game made in 3 days! Awesome mood and the shooting felt really good. I see that stopping when shooting was mentioned enough times already, that was my main issue as well. Absolutely amazing graphics, gotta say! Great entry, loved it!

Great mood! The Gameplay is a bit Clunky and not beeing able to shoot while moving bugged me a bit, but beside, it was really cool ! Liked the Cthulhu atmosphere and I really liked the tutorial embedded in the background for some reason :)

Well done!

Very cool game within a cthulhu mythos theme. Since i like this setting much, i played so long until i finshed it. The amount of cultists is too much for my taste. It got a little boring to shoot, reload, shoot, reload. A little less action and more investigation (finding stuff) would have been nice. Still, i see the humor in "investigation". And i like the writing in between: I wonder why you opted out of humor. Awesome for the amount of graphics, stuff and spells(!) you implemented, though I only used fireball, since it was the best to handle the hordes in my case. Still: I appreciate you all for the amount of content you added and though the game has its quirks, i enjoyed it a lot and you implemented the theme quite well. The Cthulhu mythos is literally the theme of the jam, so it fits quite nice that you can end up winning and still be within the theme. :) One more thing i like: the rain! And the visuals! Great work!

Looks fantastic, this game. The stand-to-fire and the fact that bullets can't go through windows or tree stumps kinda made the combat outstay its welcome a bit but the spells were satisfying.

Really nice ambience! Would've liked a little more speed and maybe an auto-reload when the gun's empty. The arrow pointing at the objective felt a little strange; should've maybe been a toggle. Hiding the trees when you're behind them was a really nice touch. Had fun

Lovely mood and tone going on here! Love little touches such as the revolving cylinder on the gun when you reload and the little tutorial was nicely done. I will admit I did actually laugh when I got the first magic spell as the thought of a hard boiled detective finding black magic and being like "yeah this is fine!" really tickled me. I think some variation in the enemy noises would of helped to sell it a little bit more but considering this was a 72 hour job what you do have is really impressive!

Really eerie game. Unfrotunately I could not delay the summoning.
Really love the reload animation. I would have wished for a more powerful weapon though or less enemies as it sometime felt very overwhelming and I couldn't make any progress.

I really liked this game! The art and animations are great! I especially liked the zombie dying animation and the little touch of the reload animation in the UI. As a small nitpick, sometimes the z-ordering of the sprites was incorrect and a dying zombie or piece of flesh would be displayed in front of the player even when it should have been behind.

The game play is also really fun, especially with the all of the spells that you can find. But I think that the game is a bit too easy: You can always just run away from zombies and take them out with your gun without really taking any risks and even if you take risks, the zombies don't really hit that hard.

The size of the world is really impressive and the story establishes just enough to have a reason for everything without ever getting in the way. Great job!
