LOOP by jyumonji
Actually it's my first time to develop a whole game all by myself, which I think is really interesting.=)
This game is actually a music game. The player, as a musician, gets a drum loop in his/her mind and he/she is going to realize it. So in this game, you will listen the loop once and then use the instruments to rebuild it, and once again, etc. However, you can only use the given random instrument once, and change into another one.(The sequence is shown on the left side, from top to bottom) Don't worry, the correct beats are saved in the next turn. (just like a loop! =D) Realize the beats before the music ends and the instruments run out!
I've just created two levels (A and B). And I tried to use various ways to make the game look better.
The connection between this game and the topic is, the time is inevitable. As is written on the tape, I used pixelated style, with Lo-Fi music and the tape to compose the game. I want to memorize the gone days with this game.
Maybe that's a far-fetched explanation because I first want this game an endless one (auto-generated beats!). I failed because it's too hard.
You guys can play online now!!! I finally solved the problem, after experiencing difficulties...
Finally, thanks a lot for playing! ENJOY!

UPDATE:
@jyumonji Good news: I got the Windows build working in Linux with Wine! Hopefully you aren't going too crazy trying to get other builds to work.
This lived up to the anticipation! What a neat little rhythm game! The game does a good job of communicating to the player through the UI elements directly. The only thing that I wish was clearer was the Listen! vs Your Turn! as perhaps a red recording light or other non-text element to more clearly indicate when it was my turn. Would love to see this expanded with procedural music eventually as you said was your plan. That would make for such a cool little coffee break game.
IMO, SFXs have too low volume.

Pros:
- I like the simple pixel art, very clear animation and design
- Love the casette detail and it's low-key purpose
- Nice tonnage with colors
- Since it's a music-related game, music sounds exactly like you would expect for simple pixel-like art
Const:
- Oh my god don't even get me started with controls. So unintuitive. Not to mention the A and B didn't work for me
- Repetitive music
- Hard to understand objective. Essentially you would need someone to show you how to play it before putting you on it.
Plus: I'm not exactly sure how it fits the theme, but it would fit perfectly the `Stuck in the loop` theme
Howver, it's a very nice attempt, especially for your first time. Good job and keep up the good work!
It did take me a few minutes to understand the controls, but I've got a lot fun after I got started!
And...I guess the triger may be a little bit smaller than icons (especially for the yellow ones), which brought some unnecessary obstacle in level B.
More screenshots on the ldjam website would be better.
Well done!
