Ludum Distractio by PhilStrahl
Have you ever realized how inevitable distractions are? Especially when you're trying to code or, say, participate in a game jam. Will you make it through the day witht your code clean and your place intact?

Description
Ludum Distractio is an attention/time management game where you have to delay the inevitable distractions over the course of a day as you try to get your code free of bugs. But beware, if you neglect certain things for too long, they might be irreparable.
Features
- Friendly, colorful atmosphere
- Moody music!
- So many jokes in the code, I can't even!
How to play
There's a How to Play section in the game (with pictures!). With your mouse move to a line with an error (squiggly red line) and hold the left mouse button down until the bar fills up. Rinse and repeat. Don't forget that there's a scroll bar at the right-hand side in the game's monitor!
Controls
- Mouse click and hold to resolve
Credits
A game by LadyMistLeaf (programming, game design) and Phil Strahl a.k.a. Pixel Prophecy (visuals, sounds, music) made in 72 hrs. We planned for so much and sadly, neither dog nor cat made it into the jam entry :(

The WebGl version is a little bugged (can't scroll with the mouse wheel, UI is not scaled correctly so you can't see the progress bar for all elements)

This one made me chuckle, good job. I only get a score of 70, but I think I'll come back to this game and try to improve it!
The clickzones feel sometimes that you can hit them properly (had some problems to bring the paper into the copy machine for example).
Too bad the cat and dog didn't make it in the jam version :( Otherwise great entry!
Feels well balanced; a run or two to figure things out, another to get the timings and controls, and finally after just the right amount of stress manage to reach completion and feel the tingling sensation of making a compiler happy.
If a distraction is ongoing when the scoreboard appears the distraction continues and the item breaks; and the score updates! Not sure if that's intended or not but I found it hilarious in the "well of course, just my luck" kind of way and goes well with the setting :)
Thank you for creating this!
Only problem I had was finding where paper for the printer and the lightbulbs were kept. When I found them, I couldn't pick up the lightbulb so was never able to fix the light.
Other than that, I really loved this game. Well done!
Great job!
As mentioned above, hover detection seems a bit wonky, but neat game nonetheless.
I got stuck on the game over screen, but that's not really important.
Cant wait for the post mortem.
Is there a way to change the lightbulb when it burn out?
Also is there a door behind the door or is it a bug?
The game is hilarious, buggy and fun! Art style is done notably well, so coherent and nice looking. Code's color scheme looks a bit out of place, though. Also, that scrollbar should drink less coffee, it's so sensitive, holy cow!
Check out my playthrough. It could also be a documentary of my entire life. :D

It was definitely a little buggy though, and some of the item collision shapes felt a little clunky.
Two items broke and I couldn't fix them, and then the game ended kind of suddenly a while after?
Still a blast being able to play one of your LD entries for the first time! I always love your post-mortems :)
Good entry
Guy's if you have seen his videos you understand why this game was made.
Now I know they may have a video for this one. I can't wait to see it.
- I clicked the door and it opened, but is was shut at the same time (graphical glitch?)
- I could not figure out how to water the plant
- Maybe it would have been nice that you could scroll with the scrollwheel trough the code, althouh this made it much more challenging ;-)
Graphics are great and the music sounds just like the background music I experience when coding :P
It's a very nice little game. There are a few issues, like the progress bar on the phone sometimes being off-screen (that thew me for a bit), but overall it works well. Some of those bits of code are great!
Very cute graphics as well, great fun overall
Except that, it's an overall fun little game, good job
I would have loved to see the usage of the keyboard in some way, perhaps as a typing minigame where you had to type out actions you wanted to perform, to increase the variety of engagement from the player. Another thing I found was that the code scrollbar bugged out occasionally, and didn't take scrollwheel input, which was a minor source of frustration for me. Other than that, it was great!
however what is the deal with that printer? also no matter how i finnish the day, it still says that the printer is jammed, no matter what i do, i fix it 50 times and its still jammed somehow
Found the scroll bar a little finicky to use, would often skip over entire code segments by scrolling too quickly. But other than that small gripe, had a fun time! Great work!
That was really cool, I wish fixing bugs was that easy in real life :)
The art style, audio and mood all fit together super well. I love the humor in the code and the little spider.
All in all, a very cool submission. Good job!
Music is amazing, pretty much the standard for anything Pixel Prophecy, the graphics are nice, and I definitely appreciate all the easter eggs found in the code. My favorite easter egg being this one:

Sure caught that one. So yeah, great work as always, and I look forward to the post-mortem ;)
My highest total score ~~curse that printer~~ is 130.
I enjoyed it a lot :D
writing all that code for the game's screen must have kept you busy :P
is it the actual game's code?
I really enjoyed that - very fresh!
there's a few kwacks
like the door's 2 states overlap somewhat :P
I couldn't figure out how to fix the lamp
... or the printer... wait - just like in real life? might be intentional - u're off the hook, there ^^# hehe
the screen scrolling doesn't work on the web version (it scrolls the itch page ^^#)
and I couldn't click on the screen once i had finished my game and i wanted to click "back to menu" thingy
still - it's fresh, it's cute, it's very well-finished
great job, keep it up - take care, man :D

Have a great day, I hope to hear from you soon - thanks for that great moment I spent testing your little nugget of a game, and see you in the chat during the stream, I hope
I noticed quite a few jokes in the code. Wish I could have slowed down a bit to read more of them.
I was not a fan of the scroll bar. It was quite tough to hover over. If there was a way to capture the scroll wheel, as well as make the scroll bar larger, it would have been a more enjoyable experience.
Nice game, it was fun to play, and I enjoyed the funny bits in the code! :D I'll check out the source code to read the whole thing.
The atmosphere is top-notch, the music fits the art style well.
It's very straightforward to play, except two things: I couldn't figure out how to fix the lamp and the phone when its screen is shattered. Clicking on it did nothing. But maybe that's an issue of the browser mode.
Anyway, nice entry as always, can't wait to see the devlog  the last team project was fun to watch!
Cheers!
