They Are Coming by PeaNud

Story

Ah! I remember the beginning of spring as if it was yesterday. It was a beautiful evening with a gleaming sky I have never seen before ... almost resembling northern lights. Jane and the kids were hiking up to the mountains to have a better view. Back then we didn't know that this phenomenon was the beginning of the end.

Help our lone hero to survive as long as possible to delay the inevitable demise he will face in a world that has changed forever.

Cool, I like the graphic style. And dashing was pretty slick, I liked seeing the dash lines on the screen. One thing is the auto-fire pickup should last longer, unless it was a bug, but sometimes I picked it up, didn't use it yet, and it went away. Maybe only a timer vs use thing? Anyways, good work on the AI enemies, and the variety of enemies in further waves! Excellent overall!

I like the visual style! Gameplay felt very classic fps! Nice work for a 3 day game!

The art-style and 3D models are fantastic! I also love the variation in enemies as the waves continue.

Nice graphics! The shooting felt nice, good inclusion of mouse sensitivity setting. Only a bit of hit feedback on the enemies would be nice, so that I know when I actually hit them! Overall, a nice entry!

The controls are nice even if the sensitivity is way too high. I would have liked with a feedback when my weapon hits the enemies, even if I am a fan of disassembly when I kill them. the art side is in line with the desired mood, it looks good

Probably the best one I've played yet. The movement was satisfying, especially the dash. The graphics were good and I loved the aesthetic you went for, it had a really cool vibe.

Great FPS submission to the jam, the mood is quite excellent, feels a bit dystopic all an all with a soundtrack and art style that makes me think back on the classic adventure games such as Another World and Beneath a Steel Sky. As mentioned earlier the mouse sensitivity was a bit high, not on the x axis but on the y axis (and as the old fart that I am I actually play my FPS's with inverted Y which made it a bit hard, I won't blame you for this though as I know I'm a bit odd with that one!) So a solid game with a great atmosphere!

Wow! Good job, the visual is great and the overall mood is really nice. The movement felt good and I liked the dash. The shooting felt nice aswell but would have loved to see some more weapon types or something to vary the gameplay. But overall great job!

Really like the graphical style and atmosphere! I think the music could be a bit more upbeat but minor complaint. The shooting satisfying and precise and powerups were a cool addition. Overal really enjoyed this submission!

Ran surprisingly smooth on my laptop! Great game! I started getting overhwelmed around wave 6 (Where I died just as I picked up some health, oops)

After adjusting the mouse sensitivity (thank you so much for the option), the game feels great to play! I am beyond impressed by the visuals; kudos to the artists! I also like that the game gives you health and power pickups as well as multiple enemies for some variety! Very good entry!

Very fun game. I like the art style, level design and dashing mechanics. I only wish that mouse sensivity settings were saved in PlayerPrefs so I don't need to adjust them every time.

One question - how did you solve the issue of preventing player hands and weapon intersecting with the environment? I saw that usually it's done by rendering them on separate camera, but WebGL doesn't support that (at least it didn't work for my game). I ended up using additional render pass to do that but maybe there is a better/easier way to do that.

Good game easy to handle and well balanced. The style is really nice and the gameplay is solid. It just lacks a bit of variety in the use of the weapon. Other power-ups would be welcome =) Well done to the whole team! =) (I reach wave 14!)

@owca as you said we just took a second camera that just renders the weapon and nothing else. I dont know why it didn't work for you but it seems it works in our webgl :/

Well done, nice eerie feeling to the game and great assets design. Nice take on the theme. I did have a sort of ghost mouse movement when my mouse wasn't moving which made it pretty challenging to aim properly. All in all, a nice entry, great job

At first I thought it would be a detective noir style game by looking at the menu and listening the music. Then the actiong begun...

The mouse sensitivity is very high at the beggining but it can be change in the options (althought everytime you die it goes up a little bit, a bug maybe?).

The music menu doesn´t loop, so when afters it finishes, the game becomes silent.

You could add a bit of variation in the sounds and make the gameplay music more intense to make the player feel that he´s being under attack. As I said earlier, it matches to be a pacing game rather than an shooter one.

Althought these are details, the game itself is very well done. Congratulations!

I saw this game on stream a couple days ago. It's soo pretty! The atmosphere feels polished, especially considering this was made in so little time. The shooting felt good and it's better now with the clearer hit indicators. I usually had to walk over/around powerups a couple times, so I would suggest making their hitboxes slightly bigger so they're easier to pick up while running away from enemies. The mouse sensitivity slider is a nice addition, and the music and sounds are also pleasant. I don't want to imagine what you could create with more time lol. Or maybe I do, it'd probably be pretty awesome. Good job guys, all in all the game is neat! I made it to wave 4.

The city looks cool. I was just running around and looking at everything for a while.

The flying bots are definitely more interesting than the normal ones.

Got to wave 7 by barricading me next to the stairs. But then too many flying bots appeared.

The camera movement was a bit fast. Made it hard to aim.

Had a good time with the game. Good job!

Please tell me You created that one wheeled enemy to avoid rigging and animating humanoid character :P. We made flying monster just because of that reason:D

Good job with the game. Great atmosphere and very punchy hit indicator :)

@chrissx2 This was the exact reason^^ I made the robot enemy and all the animations in the beginning to make sure it doesn‘t take up all my time. Modeling, rigging and animating a humainioid would‘ve been way too much for the short timeframe.

@xenobey Yep. I always tell my team that we should make a game with no character or characters so simple, they can be represented by a simple shape, and we always end up with a game where character is the focal point of it >.<

The game looks good. I like the feel of the gun when shooting. Good thing mouse sensitivity can be change since the default one too much. Over all great submission.
