Have lot of fun playing this game. At beginning, I didn't aware the turtle or other animals are weapon, and very confused that why there is an animal hidden under the infection core. Once I aware they are guns, the game starts to become very funny and fast pace. Good job guys!

The shark was the bestestest weapon ever! I had a fun time playing through it. In the first minute or so (probably only 10 seconds) I had trouble finding anything to fighht against ... in the end that wasn't a problem anymore

great jam game, worked well and i loved the music! the shark was very cool and useful. i don't know if it's supposed to have the shot fish ammo linger around, it felt like a matrix/bullet time effect almost. I voted and i would appreciate it if you would vote for our game (Salvos) too https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/salvos

Lollipop is overpowered :D That was very fun.

The darkness is expanding a bit fast. It feels too overwhelming to me. But that is probably the point. I just don't feel very powerful, despite having those cool weapons.

Good job on the game! :)

I liked the wide variety of weapons, both melee and ranged! Found the bar with the skull a bit confusing, wasn't sure whether it going to the left was good or not (as I thought a full skull-bar would equal death). Aside from that the art was awesome and game was fun, great job!

Very good game! The whole shooting mechanic and graphics made me think a bit about teleglitch, I don't know why...
The only minor gripe I have is sound balance issues.. the pink blob destroy sound is too loud and there's some sidechain effect on the music when we fire bullets that are tiring to the ear.. (However the music is really good).

The weapons are unique and fun, and the game is never frustrating!

Amazing game, really nice weapons, my favorite was the tank/turtle. It was really satisfying and I loved the experience.
Sometimes I gained damage without being close in corruption. Still, it was one of my favorite games in this jam for sure, congratulations!

Very fun game with good core gameplay and some unique weapons. One thing i would have wished for is a minimap displaying the corrupted areas.

@greenphox The bar above is actually how much the darkness has spread on the map, so you're not actually taking damage! I'm surprised you're the first to comment on liking the turtle tank, personally I like it too but most people seems to prefer shark

Still, I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

Enjoyed this a lot! Now sure I noticed too much of a difference between the weapons except the tank which had the explosion effect, but I had lots of fun.

Really good fun, one of the most fun I've played from this jam. Loved all the different weapons, perfect level of difficulty, decent sound, just good all round really! The only tweak I can think of suggesting is you have to be in quite a precise position to pickup a weapon, so that feels a tiny bit awkward sometimes. But that's an extremely minor thing.

Bem legal. A arte acompanha muito bem o estilo do jogo. A gameplay segue muito bem o tema da Djam. Como ponto negativo, diria que a câmera me parece um pouco claustrofóbica, há pouco espaço na tela. No geral, bom trabalho!

Nice entry! Cool to see a variety of weapons, though the melee ones seemed pretty lacking.
Being able to convey health vs darkness, as well as where and why enemies and items spawn could be helpful.

@apples-mmmmmmmm Thanks for bringing up your concern 😄 we do hope to balance and add more content in the future. As for the bar above, it indicates the corruption rate of the map so as the darkness spreads and covers the screen, the bar moves towards the left and the player loses. Regarding the enemy spawning, i think it's for the players to figure out

Well done game, overall. The pixel art is simple and charming, and the music fits the mood of the situation well. The sound effects are satisfying, in addition. The gameplay is simple and there isn't anything real innovative here, but what *is* here is very well done, and the variety of weapons (my favorite is the shark) keeps the gameplay fresh. Overall, good work!

If often wasn't immediately obvious why I was losing health. I think sometimes the harmful projectiles spawn pretty much on top of you--it'd have been good to have a minimum distance at which they can spawn, as well as a sound effect for when you take damage (if there was one, then a more obvious one!).

Consider that my only complaint, though. This really reminded me of Enter the Gungeon and the gameplay lived up to that feeling. The guns all felt great to use and the amount of ammo provided was just right--I found myself having to try new guns because I'd run low at just the right time.

Music was enjoyable and the art was perfectly good for the kind of game that it was.

Great work, I had fun!

Hi @skruffye, the progress bar at the top indicates the area coverage of the darkness, when that drops to 0, it means that there's too much darkness/corruption and you lose. It is not a health bar but I understand that it may have been misleading :)

Also about the enemy spawning on top, I did realise that might be an issue but didn't have the time to fix it

Thanks for enjoying the music and art. Also nice to see that you're able to see our inspiration from Enter the Gungeon :D
