Tax Evasion by slashdevslashzero

[raw]
made by slashdevslashzero for Ludum Dare 50 (JAM)

The worst has come to pass: the IRS is cracking down on your global criminal empire! The Tax Men have come to collect, and now you must launder as much of your illicit revenue as possible before they inevitably shut down all of your operations. How much money can you put away before the house of cards collapses completely?

"Tax Evasion" is the first title released by Poor Richard Games, a collaboration between Tim Miller and Josh Moore.

I t was fun, but the map was pushed to the right, and that kind of ruined the experience but great btw, check mine!

What a great take on the theme. The music is spot-on, and while I wasn't very good at the game, I had a great time just jamming along to the beat!

On one play-through, my game lagged super hard and I had to restart. But I'm pretty proud that I made $33k before the IRS shut me down! Great game, guys!

LOL we considered something similar for the theme. Dope idea, and the tracks a banger.

A bit janky but I like it. I think it'd be better if once the IRS starts shutting down your operations they accelerated a lot to finish the game quicker. I spent about half my time with only 3 cities that couldn't get enough money to upgrade, so it was basically just watching the numbers go

@jabsatz thanks for the feedback, I agree, getting the balance curve was very tricky even as is, there's a lot of room for improvement there

Good idea, has potential. I found it too hard. With some improvements, this could be an excellent game. Great music. Nice job!

A good concept: it could be the base for a light management game

Cool concept. Having the user need to click twice to access the transfer makes it hard to play it in reaction to the movements of the agents, and the agents themselves could use a little more telegraphing of their actions. Still very fun though!

I like the simplicity of the game, for what it's trying to simulate. Some sound effects would go a long way I think. Something to really grow your hated of the agents. =)
