Large Number Collider by Shigor

I originally wanted to do something else, than I decided on yet another take, and in the end, during the Sunday, I thought what the hell... how about trying something really simple? So in the end this tiny game took maybe about 8 hours of real work.

It's a timewasting puzzle inspired by 2048 (Quite possibly someone already made a variant like this, but I've never seen one, so I made it.)

Use keyboard (A/D or left/right) or mouse (clunky, intended for mobile version) to rotate the particle around the chamber. Press Space or click in the middle to launch the particle.

Particles with same color (or if one of them is white) and same number will collapse to a bigger particle. Try to beat the hi-score for the main particle.

UPDATE: There is now enhanced version available (original compo version is still in the game, you can select if you want to play original or enhanced, or you can download archived executables for windows or android). I knew there was a weird bug in physics calculation, but I glanced at the code and couldn't see it. I automatically thought it's unity's problem :D But it made gameplay more interesting, so I released it as it was - only to find out later that with progressing time the madness in the system grows and grows... The enhanced version is now modified, less chaotical and I think more funny (although physics glitches in the original are sometimes gloriously funny... and tear your eye's out if you play game for more than an hour)

UPDATE 2: Enhanced version further updated, slightly improved gameplay, added tracking of total time wasted on shooting balls at balls, and save / restore on quit. (For some reason, this doesn't work for web build on itch for Chrome, Firefox works correctly though)

Cool! I really thought the white balls were a nice touch. At first the different colors confused me, but I imagine the game would get pretty easy if they were all the same color. I would have liked a guide line showing where my number was going to end up. Overall, well done :)

Nice job, very simple graphics but got the job done. Extremely satisfying to get a cascading combo!

Nice game, cool twist on the 2048 style game. Very good effort to be made in 8 hours! Well Done!

It's like 2048 but with colored circles!

I love the game. Sometimes the balls don't match up correctly, but it's still great. ^-^

Great great take on the "classic 2048" game, more impressive knowing that you did it only in 8 hours. Maybe I would like an iteration with the idea of using the white ball as a joker but the design is very good alltogether

Mesmerizing game for sure, but then you knock out of it and youre like "wow i just spent half an hour throwing numbered balls at each other"

@austin-sierra it still fascinates me how much time I can burn away with something so simple and essentially stupid :)

I had to stop playing this game. It's just too addictive. 25 minutes in and with 1024, I realized just how long I was spending on this. It's really simple, but really addictive - a genuine improvement on 2048. The fact that I had to stop playing not because I was in danger of losing the game, but in danger of losing the rest of my day, says a lot.

Fun and addictive puzzle game, really easy to get lost playing. The physics of the balls were great and gave the strategy another dimension.

Nice game mate!! It's a solid reversion of 2048. My main complains would be the siren when you're about to lose and that sometimes some spheres are separated by a very small gap and don't merge. Other than that, solid entry!! Great job!

Good game. Like trying to figure out the best move.

Being able to push around already placed numbers is clutch and gives the game enough depth. Visuals are pretty clean but I'd like font for numbers to really fill up the balls, to make it more quickly readable. It should probably also have a higher contrast when the balls are darkened due to not being able to shoot.

Really cool game! Getting a large group of particles to pop at once was super satisfying. Good job!

Reminded me of Bust-A-Move with a math twist to it. I liked the control scheme. My final score was 32.

just a few niggling issues, otherwise good: sounds get really annoying really fast, many times the balls don't combine when directly colliding with another that is the same color and number, and many other times they don't behave as they should when you shoot one (sometimes they just stick, other times they knock the other balls around). Also, the game over felt incredibly arbitrary, I could understand if it ended when/if you literally couldn't shoot any more, but for a certain number of particles, it just felt a bit cheap (especially because I could swear that I had more than that at one other point and when it was bleeping, I brought it back down but the bleeping didn't stop).

The controls needs some polish but the gameplay idea is great.

that was mesmerizing, the physics took some getting used to, but it made sense as the game went on, well done!
